Re: [AI] Using ICICI Bank's iMobile App with Talkback, and UPI Setup

2023-09-26 Thread Mahesh S. Panicker
Please do forget iMobile Pay, its an accessibility disaster. Used to
be functional at least for credit card users, but not any more. But
for UPI, use Google Pay or PhonePe or Paytm. They are all far more
accessible, and so long as you have the bank registered mobile number
on the device, and you register with that number on any of the UPI
apps, you should be good to go. You can set up your bank account or
Rupay credit card as payment options, the latter can only be used for
merchant payments. Just select the bank, the app will fetch the
account details through the UPI interface. You will have to set up the
UPI pin and you would need your debit card details for the same. The
UPI pin for a particular bank account will be the same across any UPI
app. That is if you connect your SBI account on Google Pay and set up
UPI pin using debit card, all that you would need to do on Paytm or
PhonePe is just add the same bank account and just the pin already set
up to pay...

2023-09-26 Thread Yamuna Jivana Dasa (Yoganathan Khandoo)
Thanks very much Harshit. Your explanations are methodical and well
articulated . Gives me confidence to take the plunge into Google Pay, that I
don't need to access the bank's iMobile Pay App to set up the UPI ID and
PIN.

So just to make sure that I'm understanding this correctly enough:
So long as the same SIM phone number inserted into the device is on record
with the bank, Google Pay can create the UPI ID and UPI PIN from the ICICI
Bank account, and fetch those for me to see, save, and to supply the UPI Id
to others who will be paying me. Correct?

Do I need to be logged into the same Google account using the same SIM phone
number for Google Account verification from which I will be activating
Google Pay, which shares the same SIM phone number in the device matching
the bank records?

Thanks a million once again.

You need not type the account number. By matching the mobile number
and Bank, your account will be automatically fetched. Then you can
create UPI id which is usually in the format mobileNo@UPIHandleOfApp.
Then you can create UPI Pin using debit card credentials of the
account being linked to the UPI app.

2023-09-26 Thread Yamuna Jivana Dasa (Yoganathan Khandoo)

Hi friends,
Anyone had better luck than me using ICICI's iMobile App with Talkback?
Some of the menu items are simply not even showing up to Talkback so even a
sighted person trying to tap on it while Talkback is running says they can't
highlite it before double-tapping while Talkback is running.

An example of this is the UPI setup option.
If not for UPI Setup, I would not even use the App, I would use the
Nedbanking through a web browser, but setting up the UPI to use with a UPI
provider such as Google Pay is not available from the Nedbanking interface.
Anyone has any ideas how to activate and get the unique UPI ID and PIN setup
for an ICICI customer? I read somewhere that the UPI App itself like Google
Pay can fetch those for you during its setup process from the bank. Is this
true?
