Re: [AI] Washington Post: At some museums, blind visitors can touch the art
Hello, Yes, museums in the United States of America are designed to be blind friendly too. I visited the aviation museum in Washington DC last year and the airplanes hanging at the ceiling are represented in tactile format in a booklet with Braille indication. I found this so fascinating that I brought the story with me back to Mauritius telling it to everyone. Re: [AI] Washington Post: At some museums, blind visitors can touch the art
I visited Some art museums in florance, Italy and had a similar experience. I was able to wear gloves and touch most of the sculptures. They had interestingly created several famous paintings in relief on plaster of paris tablets that they said were very close replicas and that I could touch and get a sense of the original art work. It was a truly fascinating experience. -Manish -Original Message- From: AccessIndia [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On Behalf Of avinash shahi Sent: Sunday, July 12, 2015 9:07 AM To: accessindia Cc: rajesh kumar Subject: [AI] Washington Post: At some museums, blind visitors can touch the art The list of the museums given in the article is very handy.
