Dear Harish The kind of volley of thorns thrown at me the moment I dared open my mouth about talking ATM India and my survey yielding no talking ATM in main areas of Nagpur, left me in a semi comatose state. I unconditionally accept that all ATMs mentioned on the site are fully talking and withdraw all my observations with more than sincere apologies. I along with a friend, an escort and a driver undertook the survey of about ten such ATMs in the posh localities of Nagpur on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. I am sorry to say that none of the ATMs we surveyed is totally talking. Some are virtually silent, except the beeping sound of the buttons, others do welcome and bid us goodbye, prompting to enter secret code and wait for transaction to be completed. Now, friends all of you would agree that such partially talking ATMs are useless to say the least and tantalizing illusions for the blind to say the worst. [AI] Workshop on talking atms held
Workshop on talking ATMs held for visually impaired Barkha Mathur | TNN | May 7, 2016, 06.59 PM IST NAGPUR: Jidnyasa Chawaldhal has been striving to make life of physically challenged and those with impaired vision better. Since the time she lost her vision at the age of 18, Jidnyasa has been evolving methods that reduce the dependency of visually impaired and physically challenged. Through her NGO Atmadeepam Society, an NGO working for Education, Training and Rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, she is putting blind persons through courses such as MS CIT, MS office, and other computer proficiency courses, independent living skills, kitchen orientation, family life education, cooking. Having faith in technology which she says is disabled friendly, Jidnyasa feels that she can help the physically challenged live independent lives. Her latest initiative is a workshop for 40 visually impaired persons to provide training in the use of Talking ATM in collaboration with SBI. "Special earphones are available using which a visually impaired person can easily operate an ATM machine. It will go a long way in boosting the confidence of a disabled person," she says. सादर / With thanks & Regards राजेश आसुदानी Rajesh Asudani सहायक महाप्रबन्धक AGM बाजार आसूचना ईकाई MIU भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक Reserve Bank of India नागपुर Nagpur 0712 2806846 President VIBEWA Co-Moderator VIB-India A-pilll = Action coupled with Positivity, Interest, Love, Logic and laughter.
