[AI] Financial Inclusion Workshop for Persons with Disabilities

2022-11-23 Thread NAB Delhi Helpline
NAB Delhi has partnered with Union Bank of India to organize a workshop on
“Financial Inclusion for Persons with Disabilities” on Tuesday, the 29th of
November, 2022 from 10 am till 3 pm at the NAB Delhi Campus in R.K Puram
Sector-5, New Delhi.

Visually Impaired and other differently-abled people are often denied Debit
Card, Credit Card and other banking facilities by some banks. It makes it
challenging for them to manage their finances independently. To solve this
problem, Union Bank of India has taken an initiative to proactively provide
all financial services to persons with disabilities. Among many other
facilities, a new Debit Card is being provided with accessibility features
such as Braille letters and notch/cut to easily identify the card and use
it in ATM and swipe machines. You can also apply for Credit Card and
Personal Loans.

So, If you too are facing difficulty in availing banking facilities or if
you want to open a new account with accessible features then this
opportunity is for you. Come and open an account with the Union Bank of
India and get access to all their banking services and prompt assistance.

To register, please contact us at 8826261166 or 9212319672.

[AI] financial inclusion

2007-04-26 Thread rajesh asudani
Friends

I am of the firm view that despite high talk about financial inclusion
nowadays, it has not touched the disabled, particularly the visually impaired,
as countless testimonies of the blind about flat denial of service by financial
entities amply bear out. Be it banks, insurance entities or any other
significant financial service, at present the visually challenged are a
neglected lot. Perhaps, they see no business imperative in extending the
service to the disabled. However, there surely is business sense and we have to
convince them of it, besides, financial inclusion is not only out of business
prudence but also, to large degree out of a host of social and economic
imperatives. It is highly unfair that so-called champions of financial
inclusion barely mention the disabled in their speeches, let alone taking their
cognizance in policies.

Case before CCPD about banking services to the blind has not yielded much
except misconceived IBA guidelines. Institutions like RBI which ought to
discharge their ultimate duty of financial/banking regulation, seldom
condescend to oblige by incorporating judgments about such groups like disabled
in implementable circulars.

Let us systematically discuss and draft petitions to RBI, IRDA etc. and submit
them and follow it up with commitment.

I would be glad to receive suggestions about:

Banking services and the blind and draft a petition to RBI.

May any body else put in their valuable services for other sectors like
insurance, markets etc.?

Regards

Rajesh
