Hi Rishi, Yes, the physical rounded button at the bottum is the home button. By tripple press I mean press the home button 3 times as fast as you can, well not really but yeah be a bit fast. You can activate siri by either holding the home button wait for a smallish ding tone and command to do whatever, or if your phone is plugged in you can also say hey siri although this is not certain to work without having set up the phone or enabled in the settings. And dont worry about it, I dont mind questions at all. I remember when I started I did have a truck load of questions. :) hth, On 18 July 2018 at 19:13, Rishi Kewalramani wrote: > Hi Dear John, > Thanks for your reply, it was really helpful. > can you just elaborate on, tripple press of the home button to turn voice > over onn? > by tripple press you mean, tapping the home button thrice with one finger > in quick succession and holding it or using 3 fingers and holding on home > button? > Excuse me for my ignorance, but would appreciate an elaboration on tripple > press of the home button. > and first of all, the home button is the physical circular button below > the screen right? > Thanks & regards, > Rishi > > -Original Message- > From: AccessIndia [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On > Behalf Of john clayton > Sent: 18 July 2018 06:47 PM > To: AccessIndia: a list for discussing accessibility and issues concerning > the disabled. > Subject: Re: [AI] iPhone 8 voice over Tutorials for beginners to advanced, > please > > Applevis along with the hadly school for the blind on youtube should help > you with any and all questions. > https://www.hadley.edu/instructionalvideos.asp > Btw, you dont need anyones asisstence to turn on voiceover, you cann > either do a tripple press of the home button to turn it on when you first > start your phone, or tell siri to do it for you. turn on voiceover, that is. > Good luck and hope you enjoy your Iphone! > > On 18 July 2018 at 17:14, pavithra molugu > wrote: > > > Hi friend there are some tutorials by me on few apps and there are > > watsapp groups devoted to apple products so you can join them which > > would be helpful. Hi John, Is Siri activated by default on a new phone? If yes, how do I tell Siri to turn onn voice over? For example, on my android, I would say ok google to take help from google assistant. What is the command or gesture to ask siri to turn onn voice over or take help from siri? Thanks again. -Original Message- From: AccessIndia [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On Behalf Of john clayton Sent: 18 July 2018 06:47 PM To: AccessIndia: a list for discussing accessibility and issues concerning the disabled. Hi Dear John, Thanks for your reply, it was really helpful. can you just elaborate on, tripple press of the home button to turn voice over onn? by tripple press you mean, tapping the home button thrice with one finger in quick succession and holding it or using 3 fingers and holding on home button? Excuse me for my ignorance, but would appreciate an elaboration on tripple press of the home button. and first of all, the home button is the physical circular button below the screen right? Hi Dear friends, I finally got my iPhone 8 plus- thanks to all of your kind guidance. And I'm totally new to the iPhone iOS voice over environment, a total novice. I dont even know how to start voice over and the magnification features. So request you to share audio or text tutorials and other sources for VI beginners using iPhones with voice over and magnification. I obviously have to start from the beginner level, but I would want to learn the advanced things too. So request you all to please help me with the best, step by step, easy to understand, iPhone tutorials from the beginner to the advanced level for the visually impaired. I will mainly be using the voice over, and very rarely the magnification. So the main focus is on mastering iPhone with voice over. I love tutorials that explain things in a systematic sequencial step by step fashion, from the beginner to the advanced level. I hate haphazard and confusing tutorials that dont follow a systematic and sequencial thought flow. So please, looking forward to all of your valuable resources to master this iPhone 8 plus. Many thanks in advance, Sincere regards, Rishi Search for old postings at: http://www.mail-archive.com/accessindia@accessindia.org.in/ To unsubscribe send a message to accessindia-requ...@accessindia.org.in with the subject unsubscribe.
