Dear all, Centre for Inclusive Education and Accessibility(earlier Blind Student’s Learning Centre) Department of Education and Extension, Savitribai Phule Pune university is organizing a State Level workshop on Touch Screen Mobiles and Access Technologies on 4th February 2017.
Several persons with visual impairment are reluctant to use smart phones. most of them in rural area are not awared about use of available access technologies in touch screen mobile devices such as smart phones, tabs, I pad etc. The workshop will focus on selection of mobile devices for purchase, availability of access technologies such as talkback, kickback, voice bac, voice over etc in various devices and versions, use of specific applications such as general utilities and setting, web apps, social media apps, camera, banking and cashless transaction apps etc through access technologies. The main focus of the workshop is to spread awareness, encourage users with visual impairments for the use of touch screen mobile devices and identify as well as resolve the issues of those who are already using smart phones. Organisers are also want to identify the training need of touch screen mobile phone users with visual impairment in the region. Smart phones users with visual impairment will get opportunity to discuss their issues with the panel of experts in question and answer session.
