ABBYY fine reader 9 does the job well.

We may open pdf image and perform OCR and then save the result in any formats
it offers including txt html etc.

Only thing is that fine reader is not a free software and so has to be acquired.

So, does it mean that We cannot obtain readymade checkpoints for loadstone
also!!

I have been browsing various sites about the matter and various tools on LS
site only convert databases etc.

Even the distance and heading calculator there fails to give any reliable
feedback.

Nokia OVI maps are not fully accessible and are not usable with most handsets.

So, Geetha, Pranav, Vetri and others who have been using GPS, Please reply that
is it the fact that now we may not get any assistance for finding directions to
desired place even in LS?

Or is there any way left?

Actually, GPS which is of utmost use to blind persons in navigation, has
remained a tantalizing illusion for them, till now.

so sad!

Hello Sir,

Her query is how to scan and read Image from a PDF file.

There are some PDF files which has images and those Images has text.

She wants to know how to read that perticular text.

Abby fine reader only scanns text from the PDF file not from the Image

available in it.

I have tried to copy only the Image file but no success.

We need to take assistance of sighted person.

Once the Image got copied then we can scan and read the text using

ABBY Fine Reader.

Regards

Akhil

Hello Access Indians,

This is Jayachandran from Chennai.

I would like to learn Hindi.? My mother tongue is Tamil.? I had no chance of

learning Hindi in the past.? However

during schooling I learned little bit

of Hindi. Last year I got appointed in S B I? in clerical cadre.? Being a

visually impaired person, I think learning Hindi may definitely help in my

professional life.? So nowadays I am learning hindi.? I am trying to

converse in Hindi with Hindi knowing people.? Daily I am learning new words.

Since I learned Hindi in schooling as a sighted person, I know the sighted

Hindi alphabets .? With that help I learned Microsoft Keyboard layout of

Hindi with the help of Lekha, e speak and NVDA. For installing Lekha, our

list member ,Mrs. Sakina helped me a lot.? Thanks for her.

Now I am looking for some websites where they an teach me Hindi in a proper

way.? Is there any mailing lists in Hindi to improve my knowledge.? If so,

please inform me.? You can also suggest me the various ways to improve my

hindi.? I dont want

to learn Hindi only for speaking, instead I would like

to learn it for writing also.? Writing means typing in computers.? So I

would like to learn the spelling of each and every letter also.

Before completing this mail, I have to say one more thing.? I dont know

braille, so please dont suggest me the hindi braille magazines.

I hope you learned people can guide me in this regard.? Please throw some

light in my issue and reply me as early as possible.? You can contact me off

the list also.

I am interested to converse in Hindi.? So if somebody interested, you can

call me over skype.

My skype:? jayachandran1977

I will be available in the mornings from 7.00 to 8.00.A.M. in Skype.

Sorry for this long mail.

Looking forward for your positive and early mails.? Dear friends, I am not

very good in English also.? If there is any grammatical

 mistakes in this

mail.? Please apologise.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Jayachandran.

Hi,

1.? Make sure you have installed the scripts properly.? Did you paste

them in the enu folder?? If yes, you should get a list of short cut

keys when you press insert + H when the g talk window is active.

2.? What are the operations you want to perform in g talk?? If you can

be more specific, we can help you out.

although there is a graphical button to sign out,? but jaws users may

find difficulty to find it. so better if you sign out via system tray.

just go to the system tray, select google talk, and press the right

single button and now choose sign out.
