hi Neleema I have also applied and preparing for UGC net, which will be held on 26 12, 2010 now come to the point, your friend has not received hall ticket, fine, don't worry and ask him/her not to worry also. if yur friend had completed all the formalities by first submitting form online, then sending via post to the desired centre. if your friend is in delhi, then wait for few more days, because here hall ticket reaches to the applicant just two three days before the exam. and if your friend is outside delhi, then go along with bank acknowledgement slip and take the print out of received e-mail, and show the concerned authorities on the given centre. your friend will be allowed to sit on 26 of december, 2010 and friends, one thing for all UGC aspirants, JNU visually chalenged forum has met with the UGC chairman, sukhdev thorat on the friday gone by. and pressed our demands regarding writers in UGC exam. we requested him and told if VI is fulfilling prescribed guidelines of UGC, then he/she should be allowed to sit along with his/her desired writer. GDI stores and processes all the graphic related requests. Now, as you've got a basic idea about GDI and windows graphic management, it is worth notable that jaws relies heavily on this GDI to get information about graphics, text and colors of the screen and current control. This is all done by video intercept manager, which captures screen with the help of certain GDI functions, extracts helpful information about current control for visually challanged people, and lastly provides it to the main application of jaws which, with the combined efforts of other utilities of jaws such as config manager, script manager, keyboard manager, dictionary manager ETC. gathers enough and relevant information to be verbalized by the speech engine (Eloquence). So now, you can understand that without video intercept manager, jaws cannot perform its work partially. "partially?" yes, partially. Because as other screen reader applications, jaws also uses Microsoft active accessibility (MSAA) to obtain information about the current control, but to be more accurate and explicit, it uses video intercept manager.
