Hi gentlemen, what you have to do is that after bringing the cursor on that
required file, press application key or shift F10, after that select open
with submenu, press c for choose program, there you will get all the
programs like VLC and all, bring your cursor to VLC, press tab, there will
be a checkbox to make it a default application for these kind of files do
check it and hit enter button or by tab go to ok button and press enter.
You are way too go.
