Re: [AI] Hindi typing software
Hi, I am the developer of Varnamala. It is available in fifteen languages including Hindi and all Indian languages. One can use any layout conveinent to him/her. However, every system has a limitation and constrains. A sited person has more freedon of choice than a screen reader users. The windows in-built keyboards are made in the perspective that the users are considered sited. It has ignored that a non-sited user can also use it. Varnamala is specially made considering non-sited users. If any typing tool has assigned the control or alt or their combination keys for typing purposes, they should not be use by a screen reader user. Google inputs conflicts in many applications. They are suitable for typing short lines in web sites like facebook etc. Phonetic key board are of two kinds. Never use those phonetic layout which are based in roman typing system. Please contact me if you need Varnamala in any Indian languages. Yes and amongst the in-built Hindi typing feature there are 3 keyboard layouts. I personally use the Hindi Traditional layout but have heard many others praising Devnagari keyboard layout as well. I have found the in-built keyboard the best. Firstly, it is the standard one approved by the Government of India. Secondly, it is almost the same in all the Indian languages. For example, I found the Hindi keyboard quite similar to Gujarati keyboard. Re: [AI] Hindi typing software
Dear friends I would recommend inscript layout which is easy to set up since it is inbuilt in windows machines. The inscript keyboard is developed by Indian Government and Standardised for Hindi Typing in Computers. It is well supported by screen reader NVDA.
