Totally agreed with you regarding abbyy fine reader. But Hindi
language is not available in fine reader. May you suggest any software
which can work for hindi language in pc?

 Hi all,

I extensively need to deal with scanned documents or prints of scanned

Given that there are no good options for laptops in terms of a software
which can provide output both in English and regional language such as
Hindi, can we explore mobile apps like ID Pro (I am only aware of this
 app
which does a good job, but happy to hear thoughts) with a mobile stand
 which
can cover entire surface of the documents and I need not worry about
 camera
alignment / focus issues? Another plus point of this approach would be
 that
it also opens up the possibility of reading hand written stuff be it
 with
 very little accuracy.

Anyone any thoughts on this approach? Possible recommendations on
 mobile
stands or mobile apps? I need quality here, and happy to bare whatever
 cost
it takes to get it done.

 Would appreciate inputs.

Hi,

PC still does a better job at overall user experience.

What I suggest:

1. Get a scanner with ADF i.e. HP Scanjet 2000, costs around 25k,
comes with accessible scanning software. I have just bought it from my
sister and quite amazed at its speed and accuracy.
2. Use ABBYY findreader for OCR and save the converted files to HTM /
epub instead of docx, should solve Word's slowing down issue.

2019-08-28 Thread Pranav Lal
Amar,

I have heard good things about the fopydo scanning stand. See the following
link for more information.
http://fopydo.com/

As for which app to use, do remember that most of these OCR apps send the
data to be recognized to the cloud. Are you sure that is ok? Check with
id-pro. The developer is very responsive to user needs. I think seeing ai
also does offline document recognition. I am not sure if it is only for
short text or for documents as well.

You can try Stand Scan. You can buy it through amazon.com

I am using a metal stand purchased from Sparsh Products Dehra Dun. It
is very useful to me. It is somewhat heavy. we can dismantle it. It
comprises of 3 parts, bottom plate, connecting bar and upper plate
which is suitable for placing all types of mobile phone.

As it is heavy, we can keep it in one place. some what heavy to carrhy
it every day. and it is somewhat costly nearly Rs. 2300 when I
purchased 3 years ago.

Thank you.

Hi, Although Envision AI App is paid, It's worth the money if you like
to purchase it.
It is having all the features that you have mentioned above.
Can Recognize hand written text also with almost good quality, read
PDF, Extract text, OCR, a lots.
In Document reading mode, it also gives you guidance regarding the
visible edges of the document or the book, I and may be others also
used it a lot when it was free, it's functionality and accuracy is
really well and good.
You may have a try at it.
I don't know much about any particular stands or such kind for
mobiles, I'm also looking for the same, hope others will focus on this
topic more.
Thank you.
