Unfortunately, I can't reopen this bug (Bugzilla permissions?). Some additional information: Attaching the docking station before boot makes all devices available (serial port, parallel port, CD drive). Attaching the docking station while the system is awake only make the CD drive show up. Reloading parport_pc with or without parameters does not make the port available. Attaching the docking station while the system is in ACPI S3 allows for reloading parport_pc with io=0x378, which makes the port work in polling mode. I was, however, unsuccessful forcing an irq, i.e. the module loads but no IRQs ever occurr.
