Re: Release plan for PA3?

I wasn't aware of an official feature freeze, but as long as no features creep in, it's fine for me :) - Maybe doing a Beta release - Doing one or more RC(s) i am not sure how much more testers we can get compared to the devel/testing weekly images, since compared to the other kde software this is intended to come as a complete image rather than to be installed on an existing system Well, right now we have current images from Trunk plus Testing images from April. I think what we need are regularly updated images from the PA3 branch as soon as it was branched out, right? If we have that, I don't care if we call it RC or Testing or whatever ;) Testers just need to be able to get what is going to be PA3 into their devices and test away. And I think Use the current Devel image might be a bit confusing here... Plus there are also e.g. Kubuntu Active or the OpenSUSE / Balsam packages. Do we want to enable their users to test PA3 as well? Cheers, Thomas ___ Active mailing list Active@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/active

Power management seems seriously messed up atm. We have two places with possibly conflicting settings, very strange defaults (sending a mobile device to sleep after 60 minutes? That doesn't make sense...) and none of them actually seem to work (my devices always suspends after five minutes as well, no matter what I set in both settings and even on AC power!) We really need to get power management working, since it's really important on a mobile device. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Active mailing list Active@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/active
issues with latest mer release
Hi all, last tuesday there was a release of mer core, so, now obs build against it. unfortunately it seems to break the x86 generic adaption, live usb images won't boot correctly anymore, this is due to the merge of udev inside systemd (i think) this means the next auto generated plasma active devel images won't work the devices under /dev won't be created, so it's unable to mount the root filesystem and finish the boot. iirc there was some work on a fix at https://build.pub.meego.com/project/show?project=home%3Asage%3Amer%3Ax86-fix unfortunately doesn't seem to work, it still can't create the devices. during the image creation it was also still complaining of some not found exectuables, suck as insmod, modprobe etc. i fixed that in a branch there https://build.pub.meego.com/package/show?package=mkinitrdproject=home%3Amart%3Abranches%3Ahome%3Asage%3Amer%3Ax86- fix but the main problem still persists. does anybody have any idea about it? After comparing the package lists between last week and current images, I found out package 'MAKEDEV' is missing on current PA Mer devel Image. So it looks like a package group was changed or a dependency got lost. Cheers, Maurice ___ Active mailing list Active@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/active
