 Hi Maurice,

Now to anyone who might help here: There are several problems with the
 current devel image
 (2012-07-17-11-09-basyskom-plasma-active-devel-mer-usb-live.iso): -
Connman (and ofono) are installed by default, preventing NetworkManager
from working. They have to be removed from the default installation
 - Maliit doesn' work because gconf is not set correctly. The following
values need to be changed (just copied the commands needed to change them
from one of Marco's mails, this did the trick for me):
 gconftool-2 --set /maliit/onscreen/enabled --type list --list-type=string
 [active-keyboard.qml,en_us]
 gconftool-2 --set /maliit/onscreen/active --type list --list-type=string
 [active-keyboard.qml,en_us]
 - Konsole is not installed by default. This is not good for a devel image

now (almost of) all those issues are solved.
the keyboard starts and the cursor is correctly hidden.

for networkmanager:
i don't see connman explicitly installed from the kickstart files, neither
being pulled by dependencies, somehow shouldn't be here but it is.

i now added -connman in the ks to explicitly disable it, let's see in the next
image if is enough or still here

Cheers,
Marco Martin

again.

 Hi all,

by now we are building and publishing x86 Mer images on every friday
evening. If you like to modify the image layout or package setup, you can
easly do it by changing the related kickstart file in following repository:

 Repo URL: git://anongit.kde.org/plasma-active-kickstart
 Branch: master
 File: legacy-kickstarts/basyskom-plasma-active-devel-mer-usb-live-x86.ks
 (devel image) File:
 legacy-kickstarts/basyskom-plasma-active-testing-mer-usb-live-x86.ks
 (testing image)

In case of an broken image build you will also get informed on this list
with containing build log. Sadly the testing image build is broken by
missing dependencies. So far I see NetworkManager-kde on
Project:KDE:Trunk:Testing needs to be updated from Project:KDE:Devel.

Sadly my time for Plasma Active is very restricted, so if you like to take
over some responsibilities for system integration and packaging, please do
 not hesitate to contact me.

 Cheers

i tried to update the maliit-active package, it *may* work now

anyways i'll do some tests tomorrow to have the proper solution

i added the konsole package in the kickstart files of the git repo, if new
images will be built with refreshed ones it should appear
