Re: [ActiveDir] Search Mailbox
chiming in late here, but just want to second Larry's Exmerge motion. As far as I know it's the only native way to find a message, but by subject only. I think it may also be possible to turn on full SMTP logging and do a text search of the logs, but I'm not sure about that, and it would be a real pain. - Original Message - From: Dan DeStefano To: ActiveDir@mail.activedir.org Sent: Thursday, September 21, 2006 9:38 AM Subject: RE: [ActiveDir] Search Mailbox Thanks for all your help. RE: [ActiveDir] Search Mailbox
I don't really understand your question... You can connect to mailboxes in exchange programmatically, is this an answer? Re: [ActiveDir] Search Mailbox
2000? You *could* use the m: drive, but you may have already disabled that. POP or IMAP if you know how to use that via the command line (it's not tough, but can be time consuming). It wouldn't be as much a search as an output to screen piped to a text file and then searched. Could be size prohibitive as well. Programmatically (as Ramon indicated) is the way to do this task. Either one that's already built else a roll-your-own product. There have been no versions of Exchange that allow searching within mailboxes from the administrator console that I'm aware of.
