TDP for SQL Collocation

2004-02-28 Thread Zosimo Noriega
Hi TSMers,

Can I disable collocation option on TDP for SQL storage pool? I have 15
clients with small amount of TDP backups and stored into different tapes
(10% average utilization) and we're running out of tapes on the library.
What is the impact if I disable the collocation? Still I should easily
restore the backups. Thanks for you help in advance.

Zosi

Copying files to HSM file system from nfs-client works perfectly, but
copying from HSM-NFS file system to nfs-client migrated files gives me

Sounds like you've exported the underlying JFS filesystem before
mounting the HSM/FSM part. Try 'exportfs -a -u ; exportfs -a'.

Special Notice: Leap Year issue for the 'date' command in AIX 5.2 (fwd)

2004-02-28 Thread Roger Deschner
Happy Sadie Hawkins Day! Many of us run our TSM systems on IBM AIX, so
heed the following warning from IBM concerning the date command. This is
only an issue Sunday, February 29, Leap Year Day. After that we can
safely ignore this issue for four more years. Or apply the patch.

Leap Year issue for the date command in AIX 5.2

The date command cannot set February 29th of a leap year
when specified in mmddHHMM format. This problem only
affects AIX 5.2. Other releases of AIX are not affected.

Example:
Executing the following command produces an error.

# date 0229
date: Specified value out of range.

The workaround is to also specify the year, as in:

# date 022904

The fix for this problem will be made available in APAR
IY53552. When available, APAR IY53552 can be obtained from
IBM eServer pSeries Support at:

http://www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/support/pseries/fixes

Prior to the APAR availability, for cases where the
workaround is not adequate, an interim patch is available
from:

ftp://service.software.ibm.com/aix/efixes/iy53552/
