Re: full library?

Are those 890 slots inclusive of the import/export packs? Back when I
worked with T950s, I remember that their web interface wouldn't make it
clear whether you were looking at storage+import/export or just storage
slots.

Re: full library?

2012-11-26 Thread Dan Olson
Thanks for everything. We finally figured it out. TSM must get this
info from the return on the move command. While there was room in
the library, and elements empty there was no "terapaks" installed
to hold those tapes, basically the carriers for the tapes were missing.

Re: full library?

2012-11-26 Thread J. Pohlmann
There may be tapes in the library of which TSM has no knowledge. Do a

Checkin libv search=yes checkl=b status=scr wait=0

That will look for any possible scratch tapes. After this process is complete,
do a

Checkin libv search=yes checkl=b status=priv wait=0

which will check in any tapes that TSM knows about but thinks that they are not
in the library.

Hi All...

So I've run into a strange problem. I've got a tsm server attached to a
spectra T950 library, with 890 slots in the partition.
Tsm knows about 870 tapes, verified with select count(*) from libvolumes.

When I go to checkin tapes from the CAP I get the message "ANR8382W Library 1
is now full."

I've audited the library and compared the inventory, and tsm's state is
consistent with the library.

Any ideas? Anyone know if that full message originates from TSMs state or a
library return?

you only need to to buy licenses for the agents that IBM provides. Ask your IBM

Hello.

On a similar thread: we are in the process of acquiring Netezza and will need
to back it up to TSM. We were told of the TSM Connector. In trying to make
sure we are in TSM license compliance, we were told that we would need to
license both the TSM for BA client and the TSM for DB client. If we were to
license both TSM products, we are looking at cost in the six-figures. Can
someone please advise as to how the TSM licensing works for this product?

Thanks in advance.

I am attempting to get the netezza backup utility working with tsm. They have a
connector
that allows backing up netezza backups directly into tsm.

Has anyone tried this and got it to work.

./nzbackup -u user -pw psw -db TDS -connector tivioli -connectorArgs
"TSM_PASSWORD=x"

Error: unable to connect to host 'localhost', port '5483' - Connection refused.
