Tape Volume usage
Hello I have several Tape Archive Pools defined on TSM. The Archive's tapes are removed periodically from TSM library to a safe. During normal TSM usage there are some Nodes that made archives to those storage pools. Regarding that some of the tapes are offsite TSM Library, TSM use new scratch volumes for archive. Now I have several archives tapes with low PCT_UTILIZED how are using many tapes like the example bellow. Example: VOLUME_NAME EST_CAPACITY PCT_UTILIZED PCT_RECLAIM -- - --- A00015L4 832845.5 88.7 11.2 A00018L4 160.0 2.1 0.0 A00122L4 160.0 2.3 0.0 A00142L4 160.0 9.9 0.0 A00145L4 160.0 36.2 0.0 A00158L4 160.0 5.7 0.0 A00243L4 160.0 5.5 0.0 A00311L4 160.0 5.6 0.0 AE0055L4 160.0 2.4 0.0 AE0077L4 160.0 2.4 0.0 AE0080L4 160.0 14.8 0.0 Note: Collocation are not used in Storage Pool. Now all tapes are in the library My question is: There are any way to configure storage pool to use the minimal number of tapes (use tape maximum capacity on storage pool)? There are any way to reduce the number of tapes using the maximum tape capacity or I have to do it manually with command (MOVE DATA)? Thank you

TSM Client Return Codes - Failed or partial failed
Hello, I have a 160 (daily backup) environment and I need to perform a daily report. Several Client Nodes report Status: Failed Result: Errors. In those cases I have to login in the TSM Node and check dsmsched.log and dsmerror.log to check if it fails completed or not. In some situations, the client Backup fails completed. Others the errorlog.log / dsmsched.log report open files or files not found ( but in the report send by TSM Management console I cannot see the difference). I'm looking a solution that can see the difference between a complete failure and a partial failure (like open files or files not found) to use on TSM Management console (SQL statements). There are any SQL query that can show me the difference? Any event that can be disable on the TSM Server to prevent this. Any ideas? Thank you for your delp Cumprimentos / Best regards Tiago Botelho T_Systems at Volkswagen
