TSM VE Backup Fails for 1 Guest

2014-11-13 Thread Kalipolites, Marc
I have 2 guests on the same host. The scheduled full back up runs on the
VMPROXY but 1 Guest never backs up. Errors are as seen below.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Recommend a US company for custom LTO5 barcodes -

2014-04-16 Thread Kalipolites, Marc
I made my own using "free" software which now has a small subscription charge
and I used Avery 6577 labels.
Works fine after you get the alignment right.
I needed to add a few tapes in a hurry and couldn't wait for an order of labels
to come in.

I haven't done this in a long time -
Anybody got a recommendation for a U.S. based company that can do a small order
of custom LTO5 barcodes (and not mess it up?)

There are lots on the web, but if you know a reliable one please reply offline

Thank you!

Re: Updating TSM Server to 6.4, Will Storage Manager Administration Center (6.2.1.0) Still work?

2013-10-09 Thread Kalipolites, Marc
Thanks for your response. We also contacted IBM Tivoli support to get a handle
on where we should go version wise without having to change everything else.
I quote their reply below:
"The requirements for TSM for VE is in the link below. I checked but
didn't find an apar that matches the performance issue of maintenance plan and
reclamation running slow. I would suggest that you upgrade to 6.3.2.0 on the
TSM server code so that you can use TSM for VE and that seems to be a pretty
stable version.

For 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4 requirements for TSM for VE:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21505139 "
The main reason we are considering updating is that our Maintenance plan is
running extremely slowly, and we were under the impression that it was a known
issue, and fixed in a later release. That seems to not be the case, though.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks again,
Marc

Hi Marc,

Your Administration Center at same or higher level than your TSM Server.
Current highest versions for both is 6.3.4.

Objet: [ADSM-L] Updating TSM Server to 6.4, Will Storage Manager Administration

We are currently running TSMPROD1_SERVER1, platform:
Windows, version: 6.2.1.0, and using the Storage Manager Administration Center
6.2.0.
We plan to upgrade our TSM server to 6.4. Will we still be able to use the TIP
to access the server?

Re: Replaced LTO Drive in 3584LTO Tapes not recognized by TSM database

2012-11-21 Thread Kalipolites, Marc
Thank you, I have resolved this issue with the help of IBM Tivoli
support. The data was unavailable because the Primary backup tape had
been damaged.
After completing restore VOl everything is ok

Can you access the drive with non-TSM utility? In a Linux environment I
would use the itdt utility supplied by IBM for this kind of test. I
don't know whether the utility has the same name under Windows.

Was the World Wide Port Name of the old drive transplanted to the new
drive? If not, you will probably need to update SAN zoning.
