Have you considered replication vs clustering?

It is indeed the last filespace, it's just so large at 2T.

TSM node replication sessions too few

2016-05-06 Thread Patrick Miller
I'm running TSM 6.3.4 and doing node replication tape to tape between
servers (no choice)

I have setup maxsessions to 8 because I have several Oracle DBs that are 2T.

When replication starts it opens 8 sessions but then closes all but one.

When initial RMAN backup is done, it uses 5 drives so I was hoping to get
it that way in replication as well.

At this point, even if I could get it to run 2 sessions it would be a great
help.

Anyone know how to force more sessions to be used?

TSM 6.4 Replication multichannel restore issue

2014-06-10 Thread Patrick Miller
Hi All, We backup our oracle production DB in 4 channel direct to tape,
we then do multichannel node replication to our offsite TSM server,
when we do a DR restore test, it runs to completion OK but with only
a single channel which, of course, takes 4 times as long.

Any way of forcing multichannel restore of our offsite data?

We are having issues with TDP using TCP/IP to
communicate with the Storage Agent. It has
been suggested to switch to shared memory.

Does anyone have experience and any recommendations
or "gotchas" using shared memory instead of TCP/IP?

Thanks,
