mutiple backup paths for TDP R/3 to one server

problem TSM/TDP backup/restore
Lg running backint -p /oracle/P71/817_32/dbs/initP71.utl -f inquire with the following SAPID 's gave the following results: ++= File Name = ./adjbeaki.sve =++ SAPP719C10100148 #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167861.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167860.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167859.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/saparch/archP71.log #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167858.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/saparch/adjbeaki.sve #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167857.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/sapreorg/structP71.log #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167856.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/sapreorg/reorgP71.log #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/dbs/initP71.utl.brarchive #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167855.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/817_32/dbs/initP71.sap #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167854.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/817_32/dbs/initP71.dba #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167853.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/817_32/dbs/initP71.ora #BACKUP SAPP719C10100148 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167852.dbf ++= File Name = ./adjbemhs.sve =++ SAPP719C10100402 #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/saparch/archP71.log #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/saparch/adjbemhs.sve #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/sapreorg/structP71.log #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/sapreorg/reorgP71.log #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/dbs/initP71.utl.brarchive #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/817_32/dbs/initP71.sap #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/817_32/dbs/initP71.dba #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/817_32/dbs/initP71.ora #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_168000.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167999.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167998.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167997.dbf #BACKUP SAPP719C10100402 /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167996.dbf with SAPID SAPP719C10100402 the order looks ok. with SAPID SAPP719C10100148 you will notice a mix of protocol files and .dbf files : but the most scary thing is that /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167852.dbf is overwritten with /oracle/P71/817_32/dbs/initP71.ora !??? this was noticed when we did a restore of /oracle/P71/saparch/P71arch1_167852.dbf !!! anyone experienced this or anyone has any idea's ??? thanks in advance. SAP R3 and (MAX_)SESSIONS
Hi environment: one TSM server with disk pool stg_sapdisk_1 (Estimated Capacity (MB) 80.000 i.e. 80GB). next storage pool defined for stg_sapdisk_1 is tape (6 drives are available). every two days a tdp for r/3 backup runs (sap environment is 600Gb). I have set up R3 client for 6 parallel sessions to disk storage pool stg_sapdisk_1 (consists of 20 disk volumes). at some point (as you can imagine) the disk pool is filled up and migration will be performed automatically. what will happen next ? are current SAP backup sessions redirected straight to tape ?? will the current sessions wait until there is space again on the disk pool ?? there is only data from this one R/3 client on the disk pool so there will be only one migration process started ?? suppose this stg_sapdisk_1 consists of 3 disk volumes. Can I assume that then 3 sessions go to disk pool and the other remaining 3 go to the next storage pool i.e. tape ?? restore takes so long ... how does it really works !!
Hi restoring a 500 Gb database using backint with 4 parallel sessions seems to take forever. looking at the process a tape is mounted on drive 1 and 2, 3 minutes later the same tape is mounted on drive 2 and so on . does it really dismounts / mounts for every file or ?? environment: ADSM Server for AIX-RS/6000 - Version 3, Release 1, Level 2.50 Client Node Name: RYSAP410 Platform: AIX Client OS Level: AIX 4.3 Client Version: Version 3, Release 1, Level 0.7 Library Name: LIB_3494_1 Library Type: 349X Ruud van Ruler, Shell Information Technology International B.V. - DSES-64 ITDSES-6 Technical Information and Links page: http://pat0006/shell.htm Room 1A/G03 Dokter van Zeelandstraat 1, 2285 BD Leidschendam NL Tel : +31 (0)70 - 3034644, Fax 4011, Mobile +31 (0)6-55127646 Email Internet: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] ...OLE_Obj...
