Re: Overriding Options File

2003-03-02 Thread Wu, Jialin
Create a new option file that has your new include/exclude list. In your
scripted backup, specify the new opt file by adding -optfile=xxx at the end
your backup command.

In article

Rob Hefty [EMAIL PROTECTED] says:

Is there a way to override the options file on a scripted backup so as to
backup all data whether or not it is usually? I thought this was
considered
in as Selective but tests prove otherwise.

Hello Rob

As others have pointed out, you can do this. But it is not normally done
as alternating excluding and then not excluding files can play havoc with
your
retention policys.

Can you tell the list group, what leads to your question? Maybe there is
another method of doing what you wish.

If not, another method might be to define two nodes for your server.
Backup the data normally excluded on node1 using node2.

Hello,

A recent code change has been added to reduce CPU utilization during
online (snapshot) image and offline (static) image backups. Please try
TSM Windows Client 5.1.5.9 which contains this change, before
investigating hardware changes.

First some stats about the servers involved

TSM Server- Windows 2000 TSM Server-Ver 5.1.1
TSM Client Windows 2K- 2CPU's@700MHz each 1Gig of RAM TSM Client
Version-5.1.1 with SAN Agent.

When I do an image snapshot backup on the client the CPU Averages around
70-90%. Is this normal? Will adding 2 more CPU Alleviate this problem and
improve performance. I am using 2 LTO Drives to do this backup and I am
averaging around 32MB/sec. Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Nettape Support

2001-01-09 Thread Wu, Jialin

The following is the answer:

Csrss.exe - You cannot end this process from Task Manager.

 - This is the user-mode portion of the Win32 subsystem (with Win32.sys
being
the kernel-mode portion). Csrss stands for client/server run-time
subsystem
and is an essential subsystem that must be running at all times. Csrss is
responsible for console windows, creating and/or deleting threads, and
some
parts of the 16-bit virtual MS-DOS environment.
