Maximum Size Threshold: on Primary Disk Pool

2002-07-11 Thread jamshid_akhter

Hi, As amount of data and number of clients are growing in our environment. I have
updated the Maximum Size Threshold: 60 G
on one of my main disk storage pool. Reason is to utilize the available space for
small files. Now I have question regarding that.
1- How can I find the biggest file size I ever backed up.
2- How can I find the file list I backed up last night
3- How can I track which client and what file (effected by maxsize parameter) is
going to tape storage pool, instead of disk storage pool.
Quick environment over view, TSM 4.1.4.0 AIX 4.3.3 on SP node 3494 ATL with 7 Drives.

Any help would be appreciated

Sure You Can.
But You may not be able to restore the files backed up by the old version.

Re: Backup retention period

2002-05-27 Thread jamshid_akhter

Hi,
Use
QUERY COPYGROUP

and look for Retain Only Version

You need to understand the following things.

Versions Data Exists Number of versions to keep when the data still
exists on the Client Node
Versions Data Deleted Nnumber of versions to keep when the data no
longer exists on the client node
  Retain Extra Versions How many days to keep inactive backup versions;
the days are
counted from the day that the version became inactive.
Retain Only Version How many days to keep the last backup version of a
file that
  has been deleted

Type

help q copy for further detail and read TSM administrator manual.

Good luck and welcome to TSM.

Subject: Backup retention period

 Hi,

I just started working with TSM but can someone tell me how can I find the
retention period of the backup I have done.

I have done a particular backup and wanted to have it for atleast 3
months -
is there anyway I tell TSM to hold it for 3 months or can I actually check
how long TSM was configured to hold the data.

 Any help is highly appreciated.

 With regards,
 Ruksana Siddiqui
