Hello Efim

I run the process on another ESXi and no problem the machine was created
successfully.

I will check with the VMware administrator the status of the iSCSI on this
specific EXSi

By the way another question , after the process finished successfully I check
in the Instant Access/Restore Status windows but got " No data to display"

The new machine is power on and working ?

I did the process with full vm Instant Access instead full vm instant restore ,
and when finished successfully I check in Instant Access/Restore Status and
seethe machine
waiting to be dismount.

Instant Restore mounts a VM directly from the Spectrum Protect storage
pool then does a storage vMotion of the VM to the data store of your
choice.

So Instant restore is a regular restore but can be access after few percent

Instant restore
The virtual machine is restored and is available during the restore
operation.

Instant access
A temporary virtual machine is created for verification of the backup data,
but the virtual machine is not restored.

Hi to all

I don’t’ quiet understand the difference about those two options in TDP4VE
V8.1.0.1

· FULL VM Instant Restore

· FULL VM Instant Access

I am using FULL VM Instant Access for testing stuff and at the end in Instant

What the purpose of FULL VM Instant Restore ???

Full VM Instant Restore

2012-03-22 Thread Shawn Drew
According to the TSM 6.3 VE install guide, It supports Instant restores of
volumes only. Not the Full VM's.
Using the TSM recovery agent, you mount the desired disk snapshot and it's
instantly available.

I just ran into this Field Guide, which shows how to perform an instant
restore of a full VM. It creates a iSCSI target, which appears like a
datastore to vCenter, and you just migrate the VM off of it.Has anyone
heard of this or tried this before? It doesn't look like its a process
described in any other documentation.
