With respect, that is not really my issue - although the v3.1 manual does say to do so for DB and Log volumes in addition to the other types you rightly specify. I am having trouble bringing the sync'd mirror status back up as the 'F' volume is not coming back online. Seems whatever I try, ADSM reports that it is not a 'defined database volume'. The volume physically exists again (after DR) in that specified location and the set up was working for over a year previously. At some point it must have been defined to be able to create the mirror in the first place. Rebooting the server with the volume in place does not prompt the app to bring it back online by itself. - Can you show the output from a DIR command of the phantom volume file? - Can you show the output from the DELETE DBVOLUME command? - Can you show the output from QUERY DBVOLUME F=D? About the only other thing I can suggest is to create a new database volume and mirror that are the same size as the DB5COPY.DSM volume on E:. Don't make them a mirror of DB5COPY.DSM, but make them new database volumes. Don't extend the db, but then do a DELETE DBVOLUME for the DB5COPY.DSM volume. Maybe a silly question. You said that you had a drive failure and have a new drive and volume in place. TSM is complaining about that volume not being defined as a db volume. How did you recreate the volume? Re: Help Urgently needed
Yes, there is almost certainly a mismatch between the executable file (not sure if this is dsmcutil.exe or dsm.exe) and the tsmutil1.dll file. Check the modification dates for these files, and see if the timestamps match. I'll guess that tsmutil1.dll is older. Note: tsmutil1.dll is located in the c:\winnt\system32 directory. If those timestamps match, then search your drives as Bill suggests.
