Thanks for your suggestions. If there is anyone else that may have seen
this problem or any TSM engineers that may be able to help out I would very

Did you also try define dbcopy F:\adsm|server\db\db5.dsm?

If that doesn't work either, I'm stumped.

Any ideas what to do if it appears when trying to delete the copy volume
ADSM reports not defined volume? The set up has been working fine, but
had an issue with one of the hard drives on which a mirrored volume sat.
ADSM shows it as offline, but I cannot delete the offline volume in order to
recreate the mirror due to the error above.

Unfortunately, server version is still ADSM 3.1...

Any help is appreciated.

Re: DB Mirroring Help Urgently needed - [was Re: how to disable T SM db mirroring?]

2003-10-09 Thread Ward, Stuart
With respect, that is not really my issue - although the v3.1 manual does
say to do so for DB and Log volumes in addition to the other types you
rightly specify.

I am having trouble bringing the sync'd mirror status back up as the 'F'
volume is not coming back online. Seems whatever I try, ADSM reports that
it is not a 'defined database volume'. The volume physically exists again
(after DR) in that specified location and the set up was working for over a
year previously. At some point it must have been defined to be able to
create the mirror in the first place.

Rebooting the server with the volume in place does not prompt the app to
bring it back online by itself.

Maybe a silly question. You said that you had a drive failure and have a new
drive and volume in place. TSM is complaining about that volume not being
defined as a db volume. How did you recreate the volume?

Re: Help Urgently needed

2002-11-20 Thread Andrew Raibeck
Yes, there is almost certainly a mismatch between the executable file (not
sure if this is dsmcutil.exe or dsm.exe) and the tsmutil1.dll file. Check
the modification dates for these files, and see if the timestamps match.
I'll guess that tsmutil1.dll is older. Note: tsmutil1.dll is located in
the c:\winnt\system32 directory. If those timestamps match, then search
your drives as Bill suggests.

Andy

I would uninstall the client, reboot, then search for any/all occurances
of the TSMUTIL1.DLL. If you find any...DELETE 'em!

Then re-install the client.

That doesn't look good. I would recommend calling support at this point.
