How to check buffer pool statistics

2011-03-22 Thread Moyer, Joni M
Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to figure out information concerning the dirty page and it says to
check the buffer pool statistics. What command can I run to find the
appropriate information?

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!

Dirty page Lsn=26108034.23.2782, Last DB backup Lsn=26115521.189.972,
Transaction table Lsn=26115382.78.3144, Running DB backup Lsn=0.0.0, Log
truncation Lsn=26108034.23.2782

Lsn=26108034.23.2782, Owner=DB, Length=56
Type=Update, Flags=C2, Action=AllocPage, Page=21964800, Tsn=0:2.907583537,
PrevLsn=26108033.124.2499, UndoNextLsn=0.0.0, UpdtLsn=26108033.127.1472 ===

The recovery log is pinned by a dirty page in the data base buffer pool. Check
the buffer pool statistics. If the associated transaction is still active then
more information will be displayed about that transaction.

Good luck with this one.

We went through months of these messages. IBM L2/L3 basically said the
server was overloaded and the logs are stair stepping due to high activity
and the inability of the TSM server keeping up with the transaction flow.

While we tweaked the bufpool values and tried redistributing the
schedules/workload, the only answer for us was to reduce the workload by
moving nodes to other TSM servers.

It is a design issue with the V5 DB/Logs.
