Hi Shannon,

You do not mention your platform you are running the reports on - those
type
of messages are normally related to something the application tries to do
that Windows does not like

As far as I remember the graphs are
realized as HTML tables with colored background so you have to enable background

When I open the daily report in Internet Explorer
it looks great, but when I
print it on any printer color, or not, it doesn't print the contents on
the
activity graphs.

furthermore, on platforms where it does run... sql is not the fastest
interface TSM has to certain info, waiting 15 minutes for a select on the
actlog is not optimal when the same info could be found using 'q act',
which
is a lot faster. Apart from that and a few minor glitches, it does look
like
a usefull tool

I find that half the SQL Selects do not work with MVS but I can go in and
modify the custom report to reflect Selects that do work. The big problem
I have is that I get the following error every time the Hourly Monitor
runs;
--
syshost.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x77cb17f" referenced memory at "0x021b0013". The
memory could
could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
--
Since I have no idea what it means I hit CANCEL to debug the program and my
PC makes noises like it doing something serious, then the error message
goes away until the next time the Hourly Monitor runs. I have no idea
where to look for debug results. I sent a feedback to ITSM support with
the information but I have no idea if they'll address it or not

Fwiw, (as might be expected) it does not run on (the very old VM)
Version 3.1.2, as it uses a number of tables unavailable in 3.1.2

Hi all,

Sorry to bother you with aforementioned product, but responsible person
seems to be away for some days, and I need urgent response ...
I just installed it on my machine and find it very helpful for certain
purposes, like automatic notification on failed events, detailed
reports, etc... (something you could do on your own, but with much more
pain !)
I just would like to know if some IBM'er here could tell me if this
product will still be free in it's final version, or part of TSM
distribution, or if I'll have to open (again) my wallet for it.
TIA.

Greetings,

This note is to let you know that there is a technology preview
available for IBM Tivoli Storage Manager operational reporting.

TSM operational reporting is a simple tool designed to help you keep TSM
running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. It runs on Windows and supports
TSM
servers on all platforms. You can find a detailed description and
download information by going to:

 http://www-1.ibm.com/support/entdocview.wss?uid=swg24004874

or if there are any problems with that link you can go to your favorite
IBM web site, for example:

http://www.ibm.com or
http://www-3.ibm.com/software/tivoli/products/storage-mgr

and enter the following number into the search field: 4004874 Then
click on the Operational Reporting Preview link.

You will be prompted for an IBM registration ID and you can request one
at that time if needed.

Please note that the technology preview is unsupported and is subject to
change. The license agreement that is displayed during setup provides
detailed information related to this.

All questions and feedback should be directed to [EMAIL PROTECTED] as
ADSM-L will not be monitored for this purpose. A best effort will be
made to acknowledge receipt for all mail received at the opreport
address. Note that response time will likely be slow for the next two
weeks but it will pick up after that.

A small user's guide will be made available on the technology preview
web page by the end of day on the 15th. There are a couple of small
updates that are required for using the default reports for TSM servers
running on OS390 and PACE and the information will be available in that
document. There is a walk through presentation available now and it
provides a good introduction to getting operational reporting up and
running.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Best Regards,

Mike Collins
