Re: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service

2007-06-08 Thread Cory Heikel
We applied the fixes and the problem went away. From a pmr i had with ibm on
this issue.

The errors you are getting are a Windows issue. Below is a doc on
possible solutions to these type if errors. One thing you might do is
separate the backup into different backups. Email me once you have
tested and reviewed the doc below with status of the pmr. Thanks.

A sample of the error entry is as follows:

ANSE ntrc.cpp(921): Received Win32 RC 1450
(0x05aa) from FileRead(): ReadFile 'X '. Error description:
Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.

The return code( RC 1450) is a common error that have been seen
during backups of big filesystems, or particularly large files. Windows
has a certain amount of memory pool space that it can allocate to
programs, and TSM is using the memory available from that pool such
that there is no more memory left to allocate. This is typically caused
when TSM cannot continue the backup of this file since no memory is
left, so the operation has to stop. The limitation here is in Windows,
and is not a TSM problem (although TSM is the program using the
memory). This is a Windows limitation. Setting memoryefficient
backups will not help.

describe this error code.

Hello...

I am having an error on a new Windows 2003 server that is having
problems trying to backup 4gig files. The TSM client was running
5.3.4.0 when the errors started. I did upgrade the TSM client to
5.4.0.4 and the same error still occurred. I then tried a backup local
to the server "inc e:\ -subdir=yes" and received the following errors in
the dsmerror.log.

06/08/2007 09:35:44 ANSE ntrc.cpp(928): Received Win32 RC 1450
(0x05aa) from FileRead(): ReadFile
'\\sprg-optical\e$\BUSOFF-IOV\IOV\BUSOFF\BUSOF126.IOV

requested service.

06/08/2007 09:38:26 ANSE ntrc.cpp(928): Received Win32 RC 1450

'\\sprg-optical\e$\BUSOFF-IOV\IOV\BUSOFF\STAR5.IOV
 '. Error
desription: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the
requested service.
06/08/2007 09:38:26 ANS1028S An internal program error occurred.

This is what the output looked liked from the command line:

Incremental backup of volume 'e:\'
ANSE ntrc.cpp(928): Received Win32 RC 1450 (0x05aa) from
FileRead(): ReadFile '\\sprg-optical\e$\BUSOFF-IOV\IOV\BUSOFF\STAR5.IOV

requested service. Normal File--> 4,294,963,200

Has anyone experienced this problem and if so... is there a solution?
