Is there a command to automatically exit upon completion of the command
line backup, and not leave the window sitting at Press any key to
continue?

Consult the NetWare client manual. Look up the parameter

As far as I know, there are two ways to do a command-line backup in netware...

1. Type dsmc at the server command line. At the dsmc prompt that comes up,
type i , or something like backup vol1:\dir1\*
2. At the novell command prompt type dsmc backup vol1:\dir1\*

The 1st way will keep you in the backup client window until you exit out. The
2nd way should automatically exit out once the backup is complete.
