Hi Wayne, look at http://www.tivoli.com/support/storage_mgr/tivolieoc.html . Tivoli Storage Manager S/390 belongs to the version 4.1 product set, therefore version 4 clients should work with vm 3.1 server (version 3.1 functions only, of course). We installed version 4.1 clients on win95/98/NT/2000/ME, AIX, SOLARIS, and almost all works fine. Regards, Gerhard Ginzler "Wayne T. Wayne, We use the 4.1.x clients with a 3.1.2.40 server on AIX. Haven't seen any problems so far. Quoting "Wayne T. (answering my own query) ... Tivoli Support has, quite promptly, answered: The TSM 4.1.2 client is compatible with ADSM 3.1. Some functionality offered by TSM isn't available, but the client will work. IBM/Tivoli recommend you upgrade to TSM before using in a production environment, but I understand that isn't possible when using VM. Thanks to all that answered on and off the list, wayne Wayne T.
