We have numerous clients running all flavors of Windows clients with an AIX 4.3.3 TSM server at the 5.x level, and none of them are experiencing problems of this sort. -- Mark Stapleton ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Certified TSM consultant Certified AIX system engineer MCSE
Re: TSM 4.2 - 5.1 Upgrade
WinNT 5.1 clients will work on a schedule if, IF, you first deinstall the previous client, reboot the box, install the 5.1 client, and reboot the box. That is the only way we have found to guarantee against 3 AM server crashes. Be aware that expiration still doesn't work right in 5.1.1.4. If your production window is tight, you may also run into a problem with MAXSESS. Quoting Kathleen Hallahan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Is there a PMR on this? Re: TSM 4.2 - 5.1 Upgrade
We have 3 TSM servers running on AIX 4.3, and recently upgraded them all (not at the same time) from TSM 4.2.2.5 to 5.1.0.0. We have had no server crashes or problems since the upgrade. Re: TSM 4.2 - 5.1 Upgrade
Is there a PMR on this? We're running TSM 5.1.1.4 on AIX 4.3.3, and are just on the verge of testing and rolling out the latest 5.1 client to our Windows servers. I don't want to start testing, only to have to turn around and do it again in a week. I'd also be interested in knowing if anyone else on AIX 4.3 is having this problem. Thanks! We are running AIX 5L and TSM 5.1. Server crashes everyday. The initial response from TSM support was that all clients need to have at lease version 4.2. We did that, but server still crashed every day. If we disable our nightly scheduler for windows machine. The schedulers for Unix and Novell machines do not crash the server. So I guess there is problem with windows client code. We were told that a server patch will be available for this problem at the end of this month. We are thinking about upgrading our TSM server (AIX 4.3) and clients (WinNT, AIX, Solaris) from TSM 4.2 to TSM 5.1. Has anyone encountered upgrade issues? All feedback is very much appreciated. Thanks, John _ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
