Re: dsmserv initialization fault

2002-01-10 Thread Prather, Wanda

That's a known bug in 3.7.3.
I ran into that on both Windows and AIX servers.
Put on the patch for 3.7.4 (or higher), that's the only fix I know of.

Hello,
this is a known problem with the 3.7.3.0 server.
This is known as apar IC27060. You should at the
very least upgrade your server to 3.7.5.0.
This is available here :
ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/storage/tivoli-storage-management/maintenance/server/v3r7/AIX/LATEST/
That should fix it.

There aren't any errors here. How long did it stop there or did it just
die? Have you checked to make sure your recovery log volumes are available?

2002-01-10 Thread Sotonyi Attila

Hi,

There's no problem with these messages. Try to start TSM server in the
background from the server directory: /usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin

nohup dsmserv quiet >/dev/null 2>&1 &

If it's not working, then see the dsmserv.dsk, and then check the log
and db volumes that they're exists or the filesystems are mounted.
