Re: Rebinding archive to management class
make the management class the data has been archived with not the default management class, then make a new default management class. Then change the retention as needed. Re: Rebinding archive to management class
Try to do an export of the node and those tape you will kept then 730 days. It is not very useful for restore but it will works I think Regards, Salutations / Best Regards gGE Medical Systems ___ Eric Boireau Global Systems Server Architect / Technology & Infrastructure Team GE Medical Systems S.A 283, rue de la Miniere 78533 BUC Cedex France Tel: (33) 1 30 70 39 32, DC: 8*644 3932 Fax: (33) 1 30 70 42 30, DC: 8*644 3930 mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -Original Message- From: Matthew A. Re: Rebinding archive to management class
I think you are on the right track by using the "grace" retention period. To insure that will work right, I'd set up a domain with say a default archive of a couple of days, archive some data and then roll that node over into this "new" domain and wait a week and view things to ensure the data will still be around. just a thought Dwight -Original Message- From: Matthew A. Rebinding archive to management class
Folks, I know its not possible to rebind previously archived files to a new management class, but I want to try it anyway. My customer has been using the default management class when archiving in the past, but wants to increase the retention period from 180 to 730 days. I can't do this for the default management class, so I have decided to create another management class with a 730 day retention period. In this case, all archive files will become rebound to the management class with the same name as in the old policy domain, or in the case that a management class of the same name doesn't exist, they will use the grace retention period.
