Hello Torsten You need to make an exclude of the licenseobject container as in the example below:
EXCLUDE.DIR "NDS:.O=Novell.OU=Aarhus.NLS:Publisher=Novell+NLS:Product=NetWare 5 Conn SCL+NLS:Version=510" EXCLUDE.DIR "NDS:.O=Novell.OU=Aarhus.NLS:Publisher=Novell+NLS:Product=NetWare 5 Server+NLS:Version=510" By the way... it's not an error according to Novell, it's "Working as designed" - in fact kind of silly, they think it shouldn't be allowed to recreate an server with license object (was possible until NetWare 5 SP3 I think)), but I guess if I have access to the backup... I surely have access to the license diskettes ;) Good luck Regards Flemming -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Torsten Strecke [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sendt: 17. marts 2003 10:56 Til: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Emne: Backup NDS license-object Hi, when backing up the NetWare Directory Serivce there always occures an error. Following message is displayed: 'ANS1228E Sending of object '.[Root].O=treename.OU=containername.NLS:Publisher=Novell+NLS:Product=NetWare 5 Conn SCL+NLS:Version=510.NLS:License ID=SN:number' failed'. Novell says, this error is a known error of Netware. Because when restoring a server you always have to re-install the licenses or shouldn t restore this server to another hardware with the same license number. What is the 'Exclude'-command in the dsm.opt? Is it possible to use a wildcard because we get this problem with NetWare5 and Netware6-servers. Thanks a lot, Torsten
