SV: TSM ASR

2003-11-20 Thread Christian Svensson
Hi everyone!
Has anyone get ASR to work with Citrix XP Server?
Im trying it right now. And it not working at all.

Whats happend is when ASR try to extract TSMCLI.EXE then I got a error msg who says.
You have not enough diskspace. You need 34.21 MB at C: or something like that.
But Citrix doesnt have any C:, Citrix use M: instead as system boot drive.

Is this anything IBM can fix? Or is this a general issue for ASR?

/Christian

Yes, as a matter of fact a DHCP server must be available during the ASR-based restore
process. If one is not available, the restore will fail. This information is in the
documentation.

Of course you are right, no delete is necesarry.

Still on the ASR subject, does it use DHCP? I cant find any IP config in
the sif-files.

The desktop.ini files in the locations you indicate should have been
restored with the hidden attribute set. As Andy Raibeck indicated
there's an APAR in the works for that problem. You don't need to delete
the files. You can hide the files again via attrib +h or the properties
tab of the explorer window when displaying the file properties.

For example say desktop.ini for all users start menu resides in
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu, Open a command prompt
window, change directory to this directory and issue attrib +h
desktop.ini. Same action needed for C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs, and C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start
Menu\Programs\Startup. If this is happening for a specific user you may
need to perform the same action for C:\Documents and Settings\user
name\Start Menu\etc.

Hello,

I´m trying to restore a w2k3 server with TSM ASR and everything works great
except two things.
First, after restore, desktop.ini shows up in Start, Start\Programs,
Start\Programs\Startup menu and Taskbar.

Why, and how do I get rid of it? All desktop.ini looks like this,
[.ShellClassInfo]
[EMAIL PROTECTED],-21787

Second, network speed. My switch is configured auto/auto, the
server connects with 1000/full which is reported by the switch and 2GB
restore takes 40 minutes.
I´ll configure the switch to 1000/full so I dont get TSM classic network
problem.

TSM server 5.2.1.0, client 5.2.03

Any thought or experience about this?
