Space Reclamation problem
It sounds like a client has a halted restore. You'll have to check the client for restartable restores. Figuring out which client can be tricky if you have a lot of them. You may want look at the contents of the problem tapes to find out which machines have files on them: Q CONT ## where ## is the tape number. To see if a machine has a restartable restore, from the client command line on a machine do: Q REST - Forwarded by Bradley Wallace/TheGuardian on 07/09/2003 12:00 PM - "Remeta, Mark" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] COM> cc: Sent by: "ADSM: Dist Stor Subject: Space Reclamation problem Manager" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 07/09/2003 11:39 AM Please respond to "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" Hello all, I have a problem with reclaiming two tapes. Re: Space Reclamation problem
Hi, I think there is a restartable restore session on your tsm server that has created a lock file for that particular tape. so use the command "query restore" to find any restartable restore session is available on your tsm server and cancel the session using "cancel restore" command. Hope this should solve your problem regards N.Suresh -Original Message- From: Remeta, Mark [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, July 09, 2003 5:40 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Space Reclamation problem Hello all, I have a problem with reclaiming two tapes.
