Del already mentioned this, basically, you can't backup 32 bit sql
running on win 64 bit. You'll have to upgrade your sql server to 64
bit, or downgrade your windows to 32 bit.

Hello all,

we've got a Windows 2003 64 Bit System with a MS SQL Database (32
Bit).

We've installed TSM BA Client 5.5.1 (64 Bit).

But which version of TDP must we use (32 Bit or 64 Bit?)

With kind regards,
Boris

Boris,

Officially, Data Protection for SQL only supports
the x64 version while running on an x64 operating system and
the x32 version while running on an x64 operating system.

I am still trying to understand why you would want to
run SQL Server 32-bit on a 64-bit OS.

Thanks,

Del

Hi Del,
I can see a point in that. Maybe there is a Application that only works with
SQL 32-bit?

Hi Del and Christian,

thanks for your answers. I can't answer why our dba admins uses the 32 bit
database on the 64 bit operating system. I'm only the TSM admin. I will ask
them.

Best regards,
Boris

Hi,
You should use 32-bits TDP but you most manually install 32-bits API from the
5.5.1 BA Client Installation.
