V6.3 TDP for Oracle on Linux

2011-11-02 Thread Zoltan Forray/AC/VCU
Anyone here started playing with this TDP? We can't get it to install.
Most folks here use a terminal window and the -i console option has
always worked in the past. With 6.3 it tried to kick in a GUI/Java
session and thus fails since it can't start an X-Windows session

Packaging issues with TDP for Oracle on Linux

2007-08-28 Thread Zoltan Forray/AC/VCU
This is mostly aimed at Del, the IBM TDP guru, but all help is
appreciated.

We are having fits trying to install the 5.4 release of the TDP for Oracle
on Linux, due to it coming in a .bin, Java-based installer rather than a
standard rpm.

The boxes we are trying to install this on do not have Java installed.
Even when we installed Java, we still couldn't get it to run.it keeps
hanging.

We have had to drop back to the older version of the TDP.

How can we request and/or get a version of the Oracle TDP package (both
x86 and x86_64) in rpm format ?

Or do you have some way we can extract the needed parts from the .bin file
?

Re: Packaging issues with TDP for Oracle on Linux

2007-08-28 Thread Tomasz Hubicki
I also had this problem, and as I remember I renamed the .bin file to .jar
and then used some archiver to look into the file. Somewhere deep in
strange named directory I found... two known TDPO RPMs.

TDP for Oracle on Linux

2005-12-01 Thread Rainer Holzinger
Hello all,

does someone know if there's a TDP for Oracle on Linux available,
supporting Oracle 10g in 64 bit addressing mode?

If so from where can I download it?

Thank you, Rainer

See the TSM Products page:

for IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Databases, System Requirements,
which has all the latest on what's available.

Thank you Richard,

I have been there a few minutes ago and saw that I need Data Protection
for Oracle V5.2.4 on Linux for AMD64 or EM64T (also known as x86_64).

But from where can I download the code and the product manual?

Thank you,

Linux may be free, but the TDP is the usual cost item, usual IBM
channels.

All TSM manuals can be had from
 http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v1r1/index.jsp
(which can be had via the TSM TDP for Databases support page
 http://www.ibm.com/software/sysmgmt/products/support/

Alas, the manuals don't seem to be up to date, being two years old now.

Thanks a lot

Who needs TDP for Oracle on Linux ?

2002-03-27 Thread Leopold Hameder

Hi TSM'ers

Our Company needs the TDP Module for Oracle on (SuSE-) Linux urgently.
All that I#ve heard from Tivoli is, that the product is part of the
planned 2.2.2 release which is currently targeted for 1Q03.

Please can everybody reply to this mail who has the same needs. Iwould
like to collect the answers and forward it to TIVOLI, to increase the
pressure...
