Hi Lesli, Phil,

I would check with your IBM rep in preparing for this upgrade. I am not
certain, but I think that 32-bit Windows is simply right out. The memory
requirements have grown past what 32-bit can provide, and Windows was the
last hold out in this area anyways; I believe it was the only supported
32-bit OS in TSM 6.1. The page below states some functionality is not
available on the 32-bit systems but I'm not even sure IBM will sell you the
32-bit product.

I doubt you will see much improvement going to 8GB with a 32bit OS as it
can not efficiently use it even with the Enterprise version
Have you looked into the 64bit versions of windows as the Standard versions
will work with up to 16GB and will make much better use of the memory above
 4GB

We are preparing to upgrade from TSM 6.1 to version 6.2. I am a little
 confused about the requirements.

We are running 2003 standard SP2 as the OS. The documentation says you
 need 8G of memory.

and that this OS is supported. However, the OS will not recognize 8G of
memory unless it is 2003 Enterprise.

Do I need to upgrade to Enterprise before I can upgrade TSM?

 Thank you!
