Re: TSM for VE 7.1.1.1 exclude vm question
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but with VE being block-level backup, my understanding was that none of the file-level inclexcl statements applied to VE backups? -steve -Original Message- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU] On Behalf Of Ryder, Michael S Sent: Tuesday, February 24, 2015 11:45 AM To: ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU Subject: Re: [ADSM-L] TSM for VE 7.1.1.1 exclude vm question Here's an excerpt from my datamover's opt file. Re: TSM for VE 7.1.1.1 exclude vm question
You are correct. With TSM/VE, you can only exclude at the hdisk level, or the VM level. -Original Message- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU] On Behalf Of Schaub, Steve Sent: Thursday, February 26, 2015 10:27 AM To: ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU Subject: Re: [ADSM-L] TSM for VE 7.1.1.1 exclude vm question Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but with VE being block-level backup, my understanding was that none of the file-level inclexcl statements applied to VE backups? -steve -Original Message- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU] On Behalf Of Ryder, Michael S Sent: Tuesday, February 24, 2015 11:45 AM To: ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU Subject: Re: [ADSM-L] TSM for VE 7.1.1.1 exclude vm question Here's an excerpt from my datamover's opt file. Re: TSM for VE 7.1.1.1 exclude vm question
You need to put the VM excludes either in each of datamover dsm.opt or put them in the schedule that the datamover is associated with. We put them in the schedule because I can update them without logging onto each of the datamovers.
