Windows 2008 System State Backup: Incremental
Hi Everyone, Does anyone know what version of the TSM Windows Client is needed in order to only do an incremental system state backup? And does anything special need to be done once I have the client upgraded to the needed release? This is needed more for my Windows 2008 servers which have large system state backups. TSM client 6.2.2.0 works well for system state incremental backup. Hi David, Do you have to customize the client or tell it to only do an incremental backup of the system state with the 6.2.2.0 client? Or does it just do it automatically? No more and or less customization than a v5 client. If you backup system state, it automatically does an incremental. Windows 2008 System State Backup
Hello everyone, What is the proper way to backup a Windows 2008 servers system state? Several co-workers of mine have tried to restore this and it does not work. Is there a certain tsm client release along with a different method of backup in order to get the system state backed up and restored properly? Any information/help is greatly appreciated Joni Moyer Storage Administrator III (717)302-9966 joni.mo...@highmark.com This e-mail and any attachments to it are confidential and are intended solely for use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed. Re: Windows 2008 System State Backup
In my opinion, the best software for disaster recovery of Windows servers is TBMR from Cristie TSM Client from IBM. It allows to make full/incremental backups for SYSTEMSTATE, drive C: and other drives top TSM Server (with point-in-time disaster recovery). We were using a few versions and now we are at TBMR 6.2.1 TSM Client 6.1.0. Grigori G.
