The other meaning for "backup window" is the time period during which you
need to complete the backup. For example server is very busy during
business hours so backup can be performed only during the night. Or if
server is accessed from both Europe and Americas offices of the company
backup window is the time when people on both sides of the ocean are not
working (and is shorter).
I've not met same meaning for "restore window" so if you are asking for
"backup/restore window" and not for "backup window (and there ought to be
restore window)" the previous explanation is the right one.

that represent directories and files on your
workstation.

Use this window to select the directories and files
you want to back up. You can also request TSM to run
an estimate for the backup or change processing
options, such as compression.
