I posted a similar question and got no answer to it if ou get one please let me know. As another list member pointed out, the invocation may need full path specification of the license file. A further possibility is that the file system where the server lives may be full. The server has historically failed to detect this, and annoyingly just parrots the unchanged number of licenses because it could not write its output license file into that file system. If the server developer responsible for this code is monitoring ADSM-L, we'd appreciate having this minor code change made to the server to handle such conditions. Richard Sims, BU

Shekhar, do an # ls -al /usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin/drm.lic to see if the file is there... and if it has in it what it supposed to have... also u can do an # file /usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin/drm.lic maybe the file is not there, or corrupted, or... On yr TSM Server when u issue the q lic what do you get for "Server License Compliance:" status is: Valid or Invalid... maybe yr whole licencing stuff need deeper attention. Cheers. yesterday i did that only i upgraded to 3.7.4and tried there it failed , then again removed TSM , removed /usr/tsm directory , reintsalled , tried ..no luck .. Installed AIX from scratch assuming some ODM problem for previous installtion , Again reinstalled TSM today morning same thing .. With the reinstallation and all... can u check if you have the "nodelock" in the /usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin directory. If the filesystem is full and the nodelock file can not get written to then you should get an ANR9627E message stating "Cannot access node license lock file". If this is not happening then let me know. There are a few possibilities that I can think of. First check in your license file for the line that look like this ProductVersion=3.7 Make sure it shows 3.7, you can not use license files for a different version. Another thing to check is I notice in your output Server date/time: 01/01/70 That is a little strange for the time. The license files have a date they are valid for example: LicenseStartDate=07/28/1999 My best guess is your server date being off is what is preventing the server from recognizing the license file.
