Re: How do I get a My Client Center account?

2010-10-15 Thread John
What am I missing? What's the difference in purpose? All I could
find is that the MCC account has the API's in the menu, and the
Adwords doesn't.

Would it be possible to change from Adwords to MCC by removing adwords
from my account? Or am I forever stuck with 2 accounts?

Re: INVALID_ENCODED_LOCATION in LocationExtension

2010-10-15 Thread AdWords API Advisor
Hi,

To be clear, you can't edit (SET) an LocationExtension after it's been
created, you can only ADD or REMOVE them. As for the
INVALID_ENCODED_LOCATION error, please make sure you are using the
address returned by the GeoLocationService, not the input address you
used. The GeoLocationService normalizes the address and generated the
encodedLocation from that.

microns in the API.

I'll have to try <%= sprintf %>; looks like a nice little trick. Thank
you.

Re: Connection has been shutdown

Hi All,

Given that a number of you are reporting this error it could be that
there is a common cause. For which versions of the API and which
services is this problem appearing?

Re: logging doesn't work with v13 ReportService

2010-10-15 Thread bgraves
Here's my stack trace (not very useful since it doesn't show the
Google stack trace):
   at GoogleReport._Closure$__60._Lambda$__154(Object a0) in C:
\myWebService\App_Code\Google\GoogleReport.vb:line 2450
   at GoogleCommon.TryGoogleService[T]
(Google1ParameterServiceOperation`1 serviceCall, Object parameter) in
C:\myWebService\App_Code\Google\GoogleCommon.vb:line 131

This is happening on another client now (logging the SOAP request for
reporting doesn't work in any case, however). If I can't get a SOAP
request, is there anything else I can do to troubleshoot this
consistent reporting error?

ReportDefinitionService multiple adgroupids / campaignIds reports

2010-10-15 Thread SW
Hi

I am using ReportDefinitionService version v201008. When I try to
generate the report for multiple campaigns or adgroups, the xml
returned doesn't get statistics info. However, when I specify single
adgroupId or campaignid in the Predicate, it retrieves the statistics
information.

Older version (v13) allowed us to specify multiple campaignIds. I
don't want to make seperate api call for each campaign or adgroups. I
want to pass number of campaignIds and generate report.

Here is my code which works on one campaignId. I want to pass in an
array of campaignIds but api doesn't return any stats. I tried
passing in multiple campaignId to one Predicate instance. I also
tried creating new instance of Predicate for each separate campaignid
but it returns the same results (i.e no stats data)

Please shed some light:

 public List GenerateCampaignKeywordReport(string
campaignId, string minDate, string maxDate, string reportName, string
folderPath, ref XmlDocument reportXml)
{
List predicates = new List();
Predicate predicate = GetPredicate("CampaignId", new
string[] { campaignId }, PredicateOperator.EQUALS);
Predicate predicate2 = GetPredicate("CampaignStatus", new
string[] { "DELETED" }, PredicateOperator.NOT_EQUALS);
Predicate predicate3 = GetPredicate("AdGroupStatus", new
string[] { "DELETED" }, PredicateOperator.NOT_EQUALS);
Predicate predicate4 = GetPredicate("Status", new string[]
{ "DELETED" }, PredicateOperator.NOT_EQUALS);

predicates.Add(predicate);
predicates.Add(predicate2);
predicates.Add(predicate3);
predicates.Add(predicate4);

return GenerateReport(minDate, maxDate,
keywordReportFields, reportName, folderPath,
ReportDefinitionReportType.KEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE_REPORT, reportXml,
predicates);
}

private List GenerateReport(string minDate,
string maxDate, string[] fields, string reportName, string folderPath,
ReportDefinitionReportType reportType, XmlDocument reportXml,
List predicates)
{
Selector selector = GetReportSelector(minDate, maxDate,
fields, predicates.ToArray());
ReportDefinition reportDefinition =
GetReportDefinition(selector, reportName, reportType, true,
ReportDefinitionDateRangeType.CUSTOM_DATE, DownloadFormat.XML);
ReportDefinitionOperation reportOperation =
GetOperation(reportDefinition, Operator.ADD);

List defList = new
List();
defList.Add(reportOperation);

List mutatedDefinitions =
Mutate(defList);

if (mutatedDefinitions.Count >= 1)
{
ReportUtilities utility = new ReportUtilities(user);
string reportFile = folderPath + reportName + ".xml";

utility.DownloadReportDefinition(mutatedDefinitions[0].id,
reportFile);
reportXml.Load(reportFile);
}
return mutatedDefinitions;
}

Upcoming Sandbox DB Refresh: Tuesday, October 19

2010-10-15 Thread AdWords API Advisor
Hi,

The AdWords API Sandbox's database is scheduled to be refreshed on Tuesday,
October 19, during which all data stored in the sandbox will be cleared.
 AdWords API v13 users will have to recreate their client accounts by making
a request to AccountService.getClientAccounts(), and v200909 users or later
should make a request to CampaignService.get(). More information on the
sandbox environment and our periodic refreshes is available at:

http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/sandbox.html

Due to some special
maintenance this refresh may take longer than normal, and we apologize for
the inconvenience.

Best,
- Eric Koleda, AdWords API Team

Re: campaign budget in ruby/rails

2010-10-15 Thread Wilrik Mook
There is no way to change this in the API, it handles only micros
(exception are reports, they return normal currencies in their CSV or
XML).

Your undefined 'to_f' method exception gets thrown because
'campaign.budget.amount' is a Money object and not a number.
To get the microAmount, you should call
'campaign.budget.amount.microAmount' and divide it by 100.0.
So, to give you an example:

#campaign_controller
#dividing by a float makes the number a float
campaign_data.budget = campaign.budget.amount.microAmount / 100.0

#campaign view
#the sprintf method makes the number a float with 2 decimals and
returns it as a string
campaign budget: $ <%= sprintf("%.2f", campaign_data.budget) -%>

I hope this helps!

Wilrik

Accepting Terms and Conditions

2010-10-15 Thread Nicholas Hibberd
Hi, I've been trying to access the API, but have been getting this
message.

INCOMPLETE_SIGNUP_LATEST_ADWORDS_API_TNC_NOT_AGREED

I can't find anywhere in the account to accept the T&C, and as I have
applied for billing via invoice (rather than entering credit card
details online), I can't use this option either.

Any ideas?

Nick

Question about PHP adding ads in the sandbox

2010-10-15 Thread Peter Trobec
Hello!

I'm an AdWords beginner developer and I have a problem with the
sandbox. I have to test a few things but I have a problem with the
AddAds.php, because it needs a videoMediaId and I have no idea where
to find it. There is no script to add a test video or anything so i'm
a bit stuck.

I'd really appreciate if you could help me out by pointing me in the
right direction.

Thank you!

GG API V13 questions

2010-10-15 Thread ice blue
In the section of API Reference->ReportService ->DefinedReportJob,

1,
If I set selectedReportType=Structure, aggregationTypes=”AdGroup”,
startDay = endDay='2007-12-31', although the startDay = endDay, but
the aggregationTypes will not be ignored, because it is not the
performance reports, right?
2,
What kind of data will be returned? Does "AdGroup" data will be
returned? Will it return all the data or just return the data after
‘2007-12-31’?

Thanks

cant get campaign Stats

2010-10-15 Thread apitest-...@classesandcareers.com
using v201008 and Ruby(1.8.7-p302) gem adwords4r(19.2.1) in

campaign_srv = adwords.get_service('Campaign', 201008)

selector.ids = [campaign_id]
end

if response and response.rval and response.rval.entries
campaigns = response.rval.entries
campaigns.each do |campaign|
campaign_data = Campaign.find_or_initialize_by_campaign_id(campaign.id)

campaign_data.clicks = campaign.campaignStats.clicks
campaign_data.impressions = campaign.campaignStats.impressions
campaign_data.click_through_rate = campaign.campaignStats.ctr
campaign_data.cost_per_click = campaign.campaignStats.averageCpc
campaign_data.cost = campaign.campaignStats.cost
campaign_data.bid_position = campaign.campaignStats.averagePosition
campaign_data.leads = campaign.campaignStats.conversions
campaign_data.cost_per_lead = campaign.campaignStats.costPerConversion
campaign_data.conversion_rate = campaign.campaignStats.conversionRate

And part of the view:

Can't get the stats data. I get status and campaign name and id, but no
stats. Any suggestions.

Re: campaign budget in ruby/rails

2010-10-15 Thread Bowles
Here is the general set up in app/controller/campaigns
==
 if response and response.rval and response.rval.entries
  campaigns = response.rval.entries
  campaigns.each do |campaign|
campaign_data =
Campaign.find_or_initialize_by_campaign_id(campaign.id)

campaign_data.campaign_id = campaign.id.to_i
campaign_data.name= campaign.name
campaign_data.budget  = campaign.budget.amount
#campaign_data.impression_share   =
#campaign_data.quality_lost_share =

campaign_data.status  = campaign.status
campaign_data.clicks  =
campaign.campaignStats.clicks
campaign_data.impressions =
campaign.campaignStats.impressions
campaign_data.click_through_rate  = campaign.campaignStats.ctr
campaign_data.cost_per_click  =

campaign_data.leads   =
campaign.campaignStats.conversions
campaign_data.cost_per_lead   =
campaign.campaignStats.costPerConversion
campaign_data.conversion_rate =
campaign.campaignStats.conversionRate

Specifically, if I have

  "  campaign_data.budget  =
campaign.budget.amount "

for the table. Fro calling the method in my views i have
  "  <%= link_to "load campaigns",
get_campaigns_campaigns_path(:campaign_id => 0)  %>  "

The problem is that it seems like the micro/millions format is default
and I can't figure out how to change it via the API.

For example if
 "   campaign_data.budget  =
campaign.budget.amount.to_f   "
I get exception

Updated Keyword Tool, changes are for last 12 months?

2010-10-15 Thread calford
Hi,

I just compared the data being returned by the API and it is
completely different to data previously collected.

Does that mean that the changes to the Keyword Tool (and API) are
retroactive?
