Re: TrafficEstimatorService

2011-09-07 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi Andy,

That's due to Microsoft runtime serializer (the part that generates the
.Serializer.dll assembly when you do SGEN) confusing between SoapHeader
class in API and System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHeader from the runtime
library. There are whole bunch of issues to work around if you choose to
work directly with stub classes generated by Visual Studio 2008. See
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-dotnet/wiki/NoClientLibrary for
details.

I'd recommend using the AdWords API .NET client library instead. It is
written in C#, but has code examples in VB.NET too, so migrating the
existing code should be straightforward. The code you posted should work
with minimal changes with the client library.

Cheers,
Anash P. Oommen,
AdWords API Advisor.

Hi Howard, Trond,

We are currently working through a backlog of developer applications and we
apologize for the delay. We hope to review your application within the next
week or two, but feel free to check back in with us if you find it is taking
longer. Meanwhile, you can test out the API and start development against
the AdWords API sandbox. The sandbox environment doesn't require an approved

Re: Keyword status 201101 API value doesn't match AdWords UI keyword status value

2011-09-07 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi Alex,

The keywordState column gives you the user status for the keyword, not its
approval status. The keyword performance report doesn't expose approval
status through API reports. See

CustomerSyncService and changes appear not be updating.

2011-09-07 Thread Peter
Hello AdWords team.

I'm pretty sure this is not just API related and indicative of a
larger problem. It appears however that the CustomerSyncService is not
picking up changes made to our account 188-622-1478. To make matters
more urgent it also appears that the change history within the AdWords
website is not displaying changes. For the above mentioned account it
would appear the last update was September 1st, however numerous
changes have been made since. Looking through a number of other
accounts the last change on any of the accounts appeared to be
September 6th. Can you please advise on when this issue will be
resolved and the extent to which it is effecting different AdWords
accounts.

Thankyou,

Peter

Re: Strange behavior (maybe?) in v201101 TrafficEstimatorService

2011-09-07 Thread Ian Knox
Hi Eric, thanks for getting back to me about this but I still think there's
something gone wrong here.

I understand that the estimates aren't being generated in a vacuum but it
seems that under some circumstances they should be and they aren't. For
instance if you had a traffic estimate request generated like so (pardon
the pseudo XML)

You would expect the results to be generated on the content of each
adgroup individually, but instead that request returns the *exact same*values
as:

This seems pretty counter-intuitive since the end user (me) has specifically
designated that each keyword should be estimated in an adgroup by itself.
I can provide some XML logs if you need confirmation of this behavior.

Error while creating a campaign level Placement

2011-09-07 Thread dzephyrcoder
Hi AdWords API Team,

I'm getting an error(CANNOT_ADD_CRITERIA_TYPE) while trying to create a
campaign level placement.

Here's my code

$placement = new Placement();
$placement->url = $c_placement_url;
// Create campaign criterion.
$campaignCriterion = new CampaignCriterion();
$campaignCriterion->campaignId = $campaignId;
$campaignCriterion->criterion = $placement;
// Create operations.
$campaignCriterionOperation = new CampaignCriterionOperation();
$campaignCriterionOperation->operand = $campaignCriterion;
$campaignCriterionOperation->operator = 'ADD';

$operations = array($campaignCriterionOperation);
// Add campaign criteria.
$result = $campaignCriterionService->mutate($operations);

I can create a campaign level negative placement (NegativeCampaignCriterion)
I can create add adgroup level placement (BiddableAdGroupCriterion)
But can't create a campaign level placement.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Keyword status 201101 API value doesn't match AdWords UI keyword status value

2011-09-07 Thread Alex
Hi everybody,

Just want to report the following disagreement between 201101 API and
AdWords UI keyword status.

For the same keyword:
UI shows "Keyword disapproved" in status column on keyword tab in AdWords
201101 API returns keyword status "enabled" when yesterday's
keyword performance report requested

It doesn't look right to me. Looking for an explanation. Please let me know

Re: Intermittent NOT_ADS_USER error message

2011-09-07 Thread J.
Hi Eric, I started receiving this error during our normal operations.

The problem seems to happen about once every 100 requests in our case.
If we retry the operation it goes through successfully.

The error message is:
"System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException:
AuthenticationError.NOT_ADS_USER @ ; trigger:'528552125002'
Service[AdGroupAdService.get]"

Is "528552125002" the resquest id?

The error happens while we try to execute the "get" method for the
AdGroupAdService, Adwords API version 2009.

We would appreciate any insight on this error.

Kind regards,

J,

Re: number of concurrent API connections for pulling reports?

2011-09-07 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi,

AdWords API treats report downloads the same way as any other API calls, and
will respond with a RateExceededError if you make too many calls in a short
period. See
http://adwordsapi.blogspot.com/2010/06/better-know-error-rateexceedederror.html
for
more details on rate exceeded errors. The only difference is that report
downloads don't raise a soap exception, instead the contents of the
downloaded report looks like !!!1|||REPORT_ID|||Error details???

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.

Re: Help with AuthenticationError.GOOGLE_ACCOUNT_COOKIE_INVALID @ Service[CampaignService.get]

2011-09-07 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi,

If you don't provide an authtoken header, but provide username and password,
the client library will automatically generate one. Also, the values from
App.config and overridden constructor are merged together, which is why
things seem to work even when not specifying authToken.

To move your code to production,

- Comment out the AdWordsApi.Server url in app.config. The calls go to the
production environment by default.
- The latest version of the library caches AuthToken and retries the calls
for GOOGLE_ACCOUNT_COOKIE_INVALID, so you can choose not to set the
AuthToken header. But if you want to generate an AuthToken and reuse it,
then do this:
  string authToken = new AuthToken(new AdWordsAppConfig(), "adwords", email,
password).GetToken();
- Now use this authToken in your getCredentials method.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help or have more questions,

Cheers,
Anash P. Oommen,
AdWords API Advisor.

Re: API captcha??????

2011-09-07 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi Joseph,

You get a captcha error if you generate AuthTokens very frequently.
AuthTokens issued by ClientLogin API are long lived, you should reuse them
as much as possible. See this blog on AuthToken management for more
details:
http://adwordsapi.blogspot.com/2010/07/discover-v2009-working-with-authtokens.html

Cheers,
Anash P. Oommen,
AdWords API Advisor.

Re: Video ads creation in the sandbox

2011-09-07 Thread Jakub Matějka
Hi Eric,

According to this discussion:
https://groups.google.com/group/adwords-api/browse_thread/thread/9a12a36b273cc09a/84c2e22d0f8ef4e2
it looks like there had been a possibility to create video ads with
fake media id for testing but it's three years old so I assume it's
not actual any more.

Thanks.

Regards,
Jakub
