Re: insights for search

2012-07-12 Thread Optimizer Hq
Hi Anash

We have been trying to get an AdWords API key for months but the Adwords
team members we have dealt with so far have not been helpful and we've been
getting the run around...
Can you help?

ReportDefinition Class object for v201206

2012-07-12 Thread Ian
I have been tasked with upgrading our solution to v201206 from v201109, and
I am running into a major road block. We use our own custom built .Net
proxy and clients to access the api, and while running wsdl I noticed
several missing classes related to reports, specifically ReportDefinition.
I know VS tends to hide/remove classes, but these aren't in
https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/cm/v201206/ReportDefinitionService?wsdl;
however
from the release notes it looks like they should still be
present. I realize the predefined reports have been sunset, but the class
was helpful in building the xml for the ad-hoc reports. Any indication as
to whether this was permanently removed would be very helpful.

Adwords video data via the latest API

2012-07-12 Thread Gavin Marks
Hi,

Does the current Adwords API allow you to import data for video campaigns?
Such as cost per view, views, clicks, imps, etc.?
If not, are there any plans to add this feature in the near future?

Thanks,
Gavin

QuotaCheckError.INCOMPLETE_SIGNUP_USER_INFO_REJECTED/PENDING - Urgent!

2012-07-12 Thread Ro
Hi,

All of a sudden we get this error for the new users we have created under
our main account (the one that holds the developer key token), all the old
accounts still working well.

What could have been changed that cause this issue? The subject is urgent,
those are accounts of our clients (we are an agency).

Your help is needed!

Re: Transfer a token and free API units to another account

2012-07-12 Thread Ewan Heming
I don't work for Google, so I'm not sure about the specifics of moving
tokens and free quota to another account, but it does sound like something
that might be difficult. However, your token itself can be
used independently of your MCC, so it can be used to access
a separate account (MCC or otherwise) without your developer knowing the
credentials for your main MCC. The API usage will be charged to the
developer token, so your free units will be used.

One thing you should note though is that you're responsible for calls made
using your token, so you need to be sure that you trust anyone who has
access to it: If someone uses in a way that violates the API terms and
conditions you could
loose your token and find it difficult to get back. In most cases you can
actually get an outside developer to build your application using the API
sandbox without
using your token; this can sometimes make testing a bit more difficult,
especially if you're using the reporting service, but would at least avoid
the trust issue.

do enum fields ever change?

2012-07-12 Thread iateadonut
For example, in an ad_performance_report, there is a field:
Slot enum('SearchRhs', 'SearchTop', 'SearchOther', 'Content', 'AfsTop',
'AfsOther', 'Unknown')

Will the values in enum ever change in the future? Has there every been a
report field that was enum that was changed? Or is there a policy against
changing these?

Transfer a token and free API units to another account

2012-07-12 Thread S Naseweis
We got a dev token two years ago which is connected to our main mcc
account. After a long and terrible annoying email exchange (several months
of mostly repetitive mails) we finally managed to get free API units .

Until now I was the only developer for our small in-house tools. Now we
decided to ramp up our API use cases and we want to hire a
more sophisticated dev ;)
For security reasons we would like to transfer our dev token and our free
API access permission to a restricted sub-mcc. We don't want to give full
access to all customer accounts and we don't want to expose the login data
for our main mcc.

Is this possible? Which steps are necessary? Who should we contact? Next
office hour is not until the end of July...
If it's not possible to transfer the token, are we able to transfer our
free API units to our sub-mcc?
For my understanding free API access is granted for an agency, not an
specific account.

Re: Stats fields deprecated in v201206

2012-07-12 Thread Oliver

zweitze, we found out these fields will be deprecated in the object
services and not in the reports. What a relief.

We can do what you suggest, but why waste our server resources and slow
down our users when this data is readily available in the reports? I know
you will need to do this if you need to work out a custom date figure from
within your local copy of the data, but for daily data we prefer to grab
and trust the API's.

Re: Campaign Progress

2012-07-12 Thread Dorian Kind
Hi Marco,

here's a report definition for use with the ad hoc reporting functionality
( that
should produce the data you need (although I haven't tested it):

https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/cm/v201109";>

Date
Name
Clicks
AverageCpc

Status
IN
ACTIVE
PAUSED
DELETED

20120501
20120504

Test report
CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
CUSTOM_DATE
XML

Please note that the PHP client library will very likely provide methods to
download these reports without actually having to construct the report
definition XML yourself. I can't tell you which ones, however, as I am
using the Python library myself.

Cheers,
Dorian

Re: Stats fields deprecated in v201206

2012-07-12 Thread Zweitze
I never request such fields in adhoc reports but instead calculate them
from other results. For example:
1. Instead of requesting CTR calculate Clicks/Impressions
2. Instead of requesting ConversionRate calculate Conversions/Clicks
etc.etc.

Most of them are divisions so beware of divisions by 0. Also beware of
ViewThroughConversions which can lead to conversion rates higher than 100%.

Hope this helps.
