Re: Internal API error v201209 in MutateJobService

2013-03-28 Thread Akroplax
I have found this error to be related to creating TemplateAd ad types.
When trying to add encoding to these ad types, the ads get deleted, but the
new ones with encoding are not created and the above error is thrown.

I have sent my logs to the support email address. I also wanted to share
the details of my findings here so that others can add work-arounds until
the issue is resolved.

Since I exclusively use the MutateJobService to send my encoding requests,
I've had to disable encoding TemplateAds until this is resolved.

 Hi Tom,

We're just looking into this issue. In the mean time, could you attempt to
re-make the request to confirm it consistently errors.

Video Ads

2013-03-28 Thread Ro
Hey All,

First of all, I wanted to thank the team for having the great workshop last
week - it was very interesting and useful!

My question is regarding a subject I brought up to David and Kevin
regarding video ads. The challenge we are having now, is to create for our
clients video ads in their campaign. As we all know, there is no API to
OnLine video campaigns, so the only option is to create a regular adword
campaign with video ads in it. The main issue now, is that we can't create
video ads on the fly for our clients since there is no option to upload
video's via the api (hence to get media id for that video). The feedback I
got in the in the workshop was that it may be feasible via linking the
account to it's corresponding youtube account. Unfortunately, even after
linking the accounts, we still have no option to replicate the video's
the customer has in his youtube channel and its adword account, or somehow
to gets it's media id (required) in order to create the video ad.

Is there another way to retrieve those videos or to upload in order to get
media id so I can create video ads via the API?

Thanks in advanced,

Ro

Re: (Consistent) Timeouts submitting keywords with UTF8 characters via MutateJobService

2013-03-28 Thread Steve Wollkind
So, if I let the request go for long enough, I eventually get this back
from my API call:

html lang=en
  meta charset=utf-8
  meta name=viewport content=initial-scale=1, minimum-scale=1,

  /style

  pb502./b insThat’s an error./ins
pThe server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your
request.pPlease try again in 30 seconds. insThat’s all we know./ins

But this error doesn't actually seem temporary, it is 100% reproducible
with a batch of accented keywords.
I really need some help with this ASAP.

There is no response at all. I the xml request goes out and nothing ever

I'd be happy to send you my request xml, but I don't want to post it in
the forum directly because of the company specific information that is
embedded in it. Do you have an email address that I could send it to
 directly?

 Hi Steve,

Do you have your request/response xml logs when the request was hanged?
If there is a requestId in the response.
I can query the logs in our side, then at least we can know if the
 request reached the server.

I'm in the process of trying to roll out ads for our recently deployed
Spanish version of our site, and running into an issue.

On the English side, I routinely submit batches of 2500 keywords at a
time to the MutateJobService with no difficulty. I have never had a
timeout doing this. When submitting Spanish keywords, I have discovered
that I have to dial that batch size down to 25 if my batch contains any
accented characters. This behavior is 100% consistent and reproducible for
me: batches of 25 or less work every time. Larger batches will hang, but
the same batch will succeed when all accented characters are removed and
 replaced with ASCII.

I submitted a 50 keyword soap request to my sales team and they
forwarded it to some technical people (maybe some of the DAs reading this
forum even?) and they claim they can't find anything wrong with it. They
have not confirmed for me that the request never arrived at the Google
system (if anyone here can help me track down that confirmation, I'd be
thankful). I'm now rather confused as to where the issue is. I am using
the ruby client library, and I suppose something could be going wrong
inside that, but I'm not sure. I'm going to add a note in the ruby issue
 forum as well.

 Any advice is welcome.

 Steve
