Re: How can I access the JS api from Node?

2014-04-28 Thread Ray Tsang (AdWords API Team)
Filippe,

The AdWords API is a SOAP based API - you may be able to invoke it via
different languages as long as you conform to the standards and the WSDL
definitions. That being said, while we have supported client
librariesfor
many different languages - we do not have a supported client library
for NodeJS.

Cheers,

Ray

campaign level conversion stats

2014-04-28 Thread David Walsh
Hi,

If a Campaign's conversion tracking mixed counting "All Conversions" and
 counting "Unique Conversions", will its *stats in the Conversions report
column at the Campaign level* add the 2 counts?

In other words for such a Campaign, the number of Conversions will be lower
than if all its tracking was counting "All Conversions".

Is that correct?

Thanks,
David

How to exclude UNDETERMINED from AgeRange (Java client, v201402)

2014-04-28 Thread Michael Klein

I am creating a campaign using the Adwords API, and then trying to
configure it so that users with UNDETERMINED ages don't see the ads. I get
an error when I try to do this.

Here is the code I am using:

CampaignCriterionServiceInterface criterionService =
services.get(session, CampaignCriterionServiceInterface.class);
AgeRange ageRange = new AgeRange();
ageRange.setAgeRangeType(AgeRangeAgeRangeType.AGE_RANGE_UNDETERMINED);

NegativeCampaignCriterion criterion = new NegativeCampaignCriterion();
criterion.setCriterion(ageRange);
criterion.setCampaignId(campaignId);

CampaignCriterionOperation operation = new CampaignCriterionOperation();
operation.setOperand(criterion);
operation.setOperator(Operator.ADD);

CampaignCriterionOperation[] operations = new
CampaignCriterionOperation[] {operation};
criterionService.mutate(operations);

Here is the error:

[RequiredError.REQUIRED @ operations[0].operand.criterion.id]

It seems that the id on the criterion is required, but I don't have an id
since I'm trying to create this criterion. Is this supported through the
API?

Thanks,

Michael

Billing won't set, API gives error as result

2014-04-28 Thread Jacob Kranz

Hi there,

I have two issues which seems to be connected

1) Setting up billing info gives error

Whenever I go into my google adwords account (client Id: 908-448-9822) and
proceed to update my billing I receive this error:
"
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are unable to process your
request at this time. Our engineers have been notified of this problem and
will work to resolve it. Please note that using your browser's back button
in AdWords can increase the likelihood of errors. If you think this was the
cause of your error, please try again without using the back button.
"

I called the billing support and they said that, while the error is being
displayed, that the account was indeed being updated. I can see that in my
billing preferences that it appears everything is updated However, when I
go to Billing Summary there is no primary payment method listed. I've
tried multiple times with multiple credit cards on multiple browsers and
computers (each time deleting cookies / cache). Every time I receive this
error.

2) API gives error

When I run any API call (using my client id 908-448-9822 developer token
against an MCC test account, with client-id of: 545-318-8079), I receive
the error of: [QuotaCheckError.INCOMPLETE_SIGNUP @ ; trigger:''].  When I
google this, it says that it is either a result of a denied token (which
mine is pending) or that billing is not set up. This leads me to believe
that I need to get over the billing error in order to use the API.

When I called the billing support, they said to post here. Unlike many
other forums, I'm told that this is actively looked at so I just wanted to
thank you for the help.

- Jacob K.

Re: Test account

2014-04-28 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi,

You will be charged for any campaigns/adgroups/ads/etc. on a non-test
account. However, you cannot link test and non-test accounts per the
*Important* note at the top of the Test Accounts
Guide
.

In order to test the API, you should create child AdWords accounts under
your *test* MCC and use the child account ID in any test API requests.

Cheers,
Josh, AdWords API Team

You do not need a working product for API access -- you simply need to know
how you plan to use the developer token. Once you submit the API access
request and fill in the follow up form, our token review team will get in
touch with you to discuss your use case.

Re: Text Ads Update

2014-04-28 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi,

Text ads are immutable, so you must remove the existing ad and create a new
one. This is consistent with the AdWords API, where attempting to modify
an existing ad will warn you that you're actually creating a new ad.

A few options you have for frequent updates are:

1. The AdParamService that you mentioned
2. Modify sitelinks or other
feed-basedad
 extensions.  When you change a
FeedItem
 it
updates that item but still retains historical stats.

Cheers,
Josh, AdWords API Team

Getting campaigns and campaign stats for managed clients

2014-04-28 Thread Ryan England
Hi guys,

I'm having trouble generating an XML feed using PHP and the Adwords API of
our MCC clients, their campaigns, and then subsequently each campaign's
stats. I had this working correctly with v201302, however it appears that
in the upgrade to v201309, something somewhere has been changed and this
code no longer works.

At the moment, I'm using the ManagedCustomerService to create the list of
CustomerId, and then iterating through that list to output the Campaigns
and using a Criteria Report to grab the stats, the code is below:

$clientService = $user->GetService('ManagedCustomerService', 'v201309');

$selector = new Selector();

// Specify the fields to retrieve.
$selector->fields = array('CustomerId');

$accounts = $clientService->get($selector);

echo "\n";
echo "\n";

foreach ($accounts->entries as $key=>$account) {

if (empty($clientId) || (!empty($clientId) && $account->customerId ==
$clientId)) {

echo "\tcustomerId."\"
name=\"".str_replace('&','&',$account->companyName)."\">\n";
echo "\t\t\n";

$user->SetClientId($account->customerId);

$campaignService = $user->GetService('CampaignService', 'v201309');
 $selector = new Selector();
$selector->fields = array('Name');
$selector->paging = new Paging(0, 30);

$page = $campaignService->get($selector);

if(isset($page->entries)){

foreach ($page->entries as $campaign) {

if($campaign->status == 'ACTIVE' && $campaign->budget->period == 'DAILY') {

$campaign->campaignStats = DownloadCriteriaReportExample($user,
$campaign->id, $startDate, $endDate);

$cost = $campaign->campaignStats->cost->microAmount/100;
$clicks = $campaign->campaignStats->conversions;
$impressions = $campaign->campaignStats->impressions;

if(0 < $impressions || '' != $impressions){

echo "\t\t\t\n";
echo "\t\t\t\t".$campaign->id."\n";
echo
"\t\t\t\t".str_replace('&','&',$campaign->name)."\n";
echo "\t\t\t\t£".$cost."\n";
echo "\t\t\t\t".$clicks."\n";
echo "\t\t\t\t".$impressions."\n";
echo "\t\t\t\n";

}

$res .= ob_get_contents();

ob_flush(); flush(); ob_end_flush();

ob_start();

}

}

}

echo "\t\t\n";
echo "\t\n";

}

}

echo "\n";

The above outputs simply:

So it looks like it's finding the clients, but not the campaigns under each
client. Could you help diagnose what the issue is here?

Many thanks,

Ryan

CreateAccount.php give me an error

Hi all,

I have tried CreateAccount.php to add to a test MMC account a test
AdWords account, but when I try to add $customer->customerId and
I give a value, he create to me a new one.
How can I import (link) an existing account not to create a new one?
Like I would like to pass via API a Customer ID and to link it with
my MMC account.

 Assume we have 2 MMC accounts and each MMC account having 1 cutomer
 id as showing below.

 MMC 1st Account -  Customer Id = 111-111-
 MMC 2nd Account -  Customer Id = 222-222-

 Now, if i am using Customer Id (111-111-) to retrieve values
 from Google Adwords API.
 From 2nd Customer id (222-222-) i am running Google keyword
 planner tool UI.

 Then please advice both will returns same results of there are some
 difference.

 This is because when i using same customer (eg: 111-111-)
 account then i am getting same result on both UI and API and when i
 using
 different customer id for API (eg: 111-111-) and for Keyword
 planner
 tool (222-222-) then i am getting some different result.

 Please advice

 Thanks,

Hi,

I've been looking into this and one thing I noticed immediately was that
you are searching for "All languages" in the UI but specifying a single
language in your TrafficEstimatorService request. I'll look for any other
differences, but please let me know if that resolves the issue.

Thanks,
Josh, AdWords API Team

 If that doesn't clear things up, please send the following details *only
 to me* by clicking *Reply to Author* so I can investigate further:

1. The account IDs you are using in your API requests
2. The request XML
3. The response XML
4. A screenshot of the options you have selected in the Keyword
Planner Tool
5. A screenshot of the results from the Keyword Planner Tool

 I realize this is a lot of info to gather, but due to the complexity
 and flexibility of both the Keyword Planner Tool and the
 TrafficEstimatorService, I need as many details as possible to find the
 possible sources of differences between the tool and the API.

 Thanks,
 Josh, AdWords API Team
