Re: For a google account return all AdWords accounts they can access and for an AdWord account return all users that can access it.

2017-02-21 Thread Ricardo Buitrago
Thanks for your reply Shwetha! I was also searching for this answer. Quick
question: If a user links their account to an Adwords API tool, and the
tool gets the list of customers the user has access to using the method you
mentioned, how does the API tool "understand" if it can access a specific
customer account in the list? The reason I ask this is I understand that if
a user has "read-only" access to a certain customer account, it cannot give
permission to an API tool to access the account. Am I right? How do API
tools "know" which customer accounts it has permission to access?

Thanks in advance!
Ricardo

How to handle close variants with TargetingIdeaService monthly search volumes

2017-02-21 Thread carl . adermann
Hi team,

When using the TargetingIdeaService I'm having trouble matching the web
interface monthly search volumes.

If I use the basket containing the two terms "car", and "cars" the web
interface will recognise these as close variants and exclude one from the
count.

When using the TargetingIdeaService I'm returned two keyword volumes summed
together as they are close variants. As the returned volumes have already
been summed together by the api, my system is double counting when summing
the returned volumes.

I have three questions around this issue:

1) Is there a way to request the keywords use exact matching for the search
volume data rather than matching other keywords.

2) Is there a way to know which keywords are close variants so I can
exclude these from my total sum of volumes for a keyword basket?

3) Are the close variant/matching definitions changing? It seems like each
month, when I pull the previous 12 months search volumes, the historic data
is changing.

Thanks for your help,

Carl Adermann

Which service is used to set / change AdGroup Bids?

2017-02-21 Thread Jarad C
I asked a question at StackOverflow (here
).

I am using Python.

I'm trying to set ad group bids using AdGroupService and mutate.

My suds response object looks like:

(AdGroupPage){
   totalNumEntries = 1
   Page.Type = "AdGroupPage"
   entries[] =
  (AdGroup){
 id = 38496562285
 campaignId = 759990659
 campaignName = "Some Campaign #1"
 name = "Second group"
 status = "ENABLED"
 biddingStrategyConfiguration =
(BiddingStrategyConfiguration){
   biddingStrategyType = "MANUAL_CPC"
   bids[] =
  (CpcBid){
 Bids.Type = "CpcBid"
 bid =
(Money){
   ComparableValue.Type = "Money"
   microAmount = 123
}
 cpcBidSource = "ADGROUP"
  },
}
  },
 }

My operations object looks like:

operations = [{
'operator': 'SET',
'operand': {
'id': 38496562285,
'biddingStrategyConfiguration': {
'bids': [{
'bid': {
'microAmount': 456
}
}]
}
}
}]

I then do something like:
service = client.adwords_client.GetService('AdGroupService', version=
'v201609')
service.mutate(operations)

It returns an error:

suds.TypeNotFound: Type not found: 'bid'

My question is, am I using the right service to update ad group bids?

If yes, how do I modify my above operations object if the goal is changing
the ad group level bid?

If no, what service should I be using?

I couldn't find any examples of changing ad group level default bids.

Thanks

Re: For a google account return all AdWords accounts they can access and for an AdWord account return all users that can access it.

2017-02-21 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Tom,

Given a Google account, you can retrieve the AdWords accounts directly
accessible by this account using CustomerService.getCustomers()

 method.
This service returns the details of all the customers directly accessible
by the user authenticating the call if no clientCustomerId is specified in
the request header. I'm afraid it's not possible to retrieve the access
levels the authenticated user has to each AdWords account.

Unfortunately, the second requirement is not supported in AdWords API. The
users listed is the Account Access section cannot be retrieved using any of
the AdWords API services.

Re: Create the keywords search volume in PHP?

2017-02-21 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Vikas,

Are you referring to retrieving search volume for keywords? In AdWords API,
TargetingIdeaService

can be used to retrieve search volume data and trends for keywords. You
need to set the TargetingIdeaSelector.requestType to STATS and select
TARGETED_MONTHLY_SEARCHES

as one of the attributes to be returned in the response. You need to use
the RelatedToQuerySearchParameter

to specify a list of seed keywords for which to retrieve the search volume
data. You can also set other options to refine your results. This guide

provides more information on using TargetingIdeaService and also provides
the mapping to Keyword Planner functions. The GetKeywordIdeas

PHP example demonstrates how to use this service.

Shwetha, AdWords API Team.

Re: How to change accounts dynamically in v201609 (PHP)

2017-02-21 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

You can set the clientCusotmerId dynamically while creating an AdWords
session as shown below:

$session = (new AdWordsSessionBuilder())
->fromFile()
->withOAuth2Credential($oAuth2Credential)
->withClientCustomerId(clientCustomerId)
->build();

Shwetha, AdWords API Team.

 Hi Nadine,

 still no improvement, today we have 28 stuck batch jobs across seven
 adwords accounts. I also checked a sample of 10 batch jobs out of the ones
 we have canceled over the past days and 2 jobs are actually canceled but 8
 are still in state canceling. As this issue is present for four days now,
 it becomes more critical for us because we are unable to deliver the full
 service to some of our customers. Thus, any advise for how the deal with
 the "broken" batch jobs is appreciated. Does it, for example, make sense
 to
 try smaller or larger jobs?

For a google account return all AdWords accounts they can access and for an AdWord account return all users that can access it.

2017-02-21 Thread Tom Hughes

Hi,

I'm assessing the AdWords and I'm trying to work out if it can satisfy the
following requirements :

1. Given a Google account (which is authenticated against an app with the
requisite scopes), can I retrieve all the AdWords accounts that it can
access and the level of access it has?
e.g. given my.employ...@gmail.com
return
adwords@gmail.com - Adminstrative
adwords@gmail.com - Read-only

2. Given an AdWords account (again authenticated with the requisite
scopes), can I retrieve all Google accounts that have access and their
levels of access?
e.g. adwords@gmail.com
return
my.employ...@gmail.com - Adminstrative
my.employ...@gmail.com - Read-only

The information returned will be equivalent to the table in the following
image :

thanks in advance,
Tom

Was wondering if there was a way to target display advertisements towards keywords in a url

2017-02-21 Thread Ori Geshury
For example monster.com might have a billion different ways of customizing
search queries that serve ads that have the keyword "-nj" in it, but I
wouldn't want to target any other keyword on that website. So the display
campaign would serve ads in all urls that have the string "-nj" in it, but
nothing else.

Thanks!

How to change accounts dynamically in v201609 (PHP)

2017-02-21 Thread ystmcc01

We've been using v201605 for ad management tool and now updating it to
v201609.

We have many clients, so need to change accounts dynamically for iterative
tasks.

 AdwordsUser class supports this function in v201605.

---
clientCustomerId = "INSERT_CLIENT_CUSTOMER_ID_HERE"

; Uncomment clientCustomerId to make requests against a single AdWords
account,
; such as when you run the examples.
; If you don't set it here, you can set the client customer ID dynamically:
;  $user = new AdWordsUser();
;  $user->SetClientCustomerId(...);

---

How can we accounts or clientCustomerIds dynamically in v201609 like
v201605 or any other ways?

Thanks in advance!
