Adding Account Management to my application

2017-09-22 Thread adwordstesttoken
After my application for a developer token failed, I was told that I need
to add Account Management to my application in order to comply with the
AdWords API terms and policy. I am confused on the procedure in order to do
that; I am currently using test accounts to do that. In order to manage my
client's AdWord account with my developer token (which is test for now), it
seems like I need to set up AcceptServiceLinks in order to manage my
client's AdWords account. In the sample code, it says "this example accepts
a pending invitation to link your AdWords account to a Google Merchant
Center account", which I think I would also need a Google Merchant Center
account too if I want to manage my client's AdWords account. However, in
the AdWords API DevBytes video, it says I can "use an approved developer
token for request against all your AdWords account, including those that
are not linked to the developer's tokens [?MTC?] account"; from this, I
think I do not need to setup AcceptServiceLinks in order to manage my
client's account. In my understanding, it seems like I would need to use my
own clientId and clientSecret then dynamically set the clientCustomerId
"which is the account number of the Adwrods account I want to manage
through API". However, I tried this before with my test developer tokens
which give me an authorization error. Does this means that I need a Google
Merchant Center account which can allow me to setup AcceptServiceLinks to
my client's AdWords account then dynamically set my client's
clientCustomerId in order to start managing my client's Adwords account? Or
it will just work as long as I have a approved developer token, which means
I will not be able test this through using test tokens? Also is there an
easy way to get my client's clientCustomerId like accessing with their
gmail credentials or will I have to ask my client to input that manually?

Ad Rotation Strategy Migration

2017-09-22 Thread 派尼爾
Hi Adwords team,

According to inside adwords, ad rotation options will simplify to 2
options("Optimize" and "Rotate indefinitely") on interface.

https://adwords.googleblog.com/2017/08/introducing-better-simpler-ad-rotation.html

Does it affect adwords API AdServingOptimizationStatus?
Adwords API v201708 AdServingOptimizationStatus still contains
CONVERSION_OPTIMIZE and ROTATE status
Should I migrate all these status to OPTIMIZE?

Re: Universal App Campaigns Reporting

2017-09-22 Thread 'Nadine Sundquist (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hello Yuval,

I just did a check to see if there is anything in the works, and I don't
currently see any plans to add UACs to these reports. I've put in a feature
request for these reports to include UACs. Please keep an eye on our blog
 for any updates. Thanks for
bringing this up!

2017-09-22 Thread 'Bharani Cherukuri (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hello Dino,

I did receive the SOAP logs for adding the Expanded Text ads. I had
responded to you privately. Could you check if you received my message? Based
on the SOAP logs, I'm not able to locate the AdGroupID used for the API
call. INVALID_ID error is noticed when the referencing ID is not associated
with the account specified in the clientCustomerId header. Could you
provide us the SOAP request and response logs for the AdGroupService.get()

 API
call, so we can take a look? You can respond via *Reply privately to author*
 option.

Re: Ad Rotation Strategy Migration

2017-09-22 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

You should still be able to use *CONVERSION_OPTIMIZE* and *ROTATE
*adServingOptimizationStatus
in AdWords API v201708. UI and API are not always consistent; there are
times when the UI changes first, and there are other times when the API
will change first. Currently, there shouldn't be any changes that will
break API usage. You can keep an eye on our blog

 for
any updates or announcements related to these changes. We'll update the blog

 in
advance for any new validation rules or migration procedures.

Re: Credential could not be refreshed, java client library version v201708

2017-09-22 Thread 'Bharani Cherukuri (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hello Hari,

To rule out issues with the client library or your *ads.properties* file,
could you issue the access token request via curl as follows?

curl --data "grant_type=refresh_token" \
 --data "refresh_token=*YOUR_REFRESH_TOKEN*" \
 --data "client_id=*YOUR_CLIENT_ID*" \
 --data "client_secret=*YOUR_CLIENT_SECRET*" \
 https://www.googleapis.com/oauth2/v4/token

You won't be using curl to get access tokens from your app, but this will
tell us if the refresh token, client ID, and client secret you're using are
valid.

Thanks,
Bharani, AdWords API Team

Ad Customizer Feed for Responsive Display Ads

2017-09-22 Thread PPC Developer
It's unclear if this feature is currently supported. Can I create a feed,
attach it to a display campaign, and refer to the feed in Responsive
Display Ad's short headline as

"{DataSet.Attribute} - this is a great ad"

According to the community, this is not supported for Display network
responsive ads.

https://www.en.advertisercommunity.com/t5/Advanced-Features/Responsive-Ads-and-Ad-Customizers/td-p/839420

However, the documentation says it's possible. Also you can actually save a
responsive ad from adwords.com's web application, it doesn't throw an
error.

So what's the verdict on this? Is it supported or not?

Unmarshalling Error with add_responsive_display_ad.py in release v201708

2017-09-22 Thread James Huang
Dear Adwords API team,

I download the script "add_responsive_display_ad.py" from the latest
release v201708, and run the exact same script (without changing the sample
image URL) on both Windows and Linux but kept getting this error message

suds.WebFault: Server raised fault: 'Unmarshalling Error:
cvc-datatype-valid.1.2.1: 'b'/9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQAAAQAB...(a long
encoded string)...' is not a valid value for 'base64Binary'.
https://github.com/googleads/googleads-python-lib/blob/master/examples/adwords/v201708/advanced_operations/add_responsive_display_ad.py

Could you advise why the sample script doesn't work and what are the
possible options to make it work?

many thanks,

Re: Exception while calling OfflineConversionFeedService

2017-09-22 Thread Nathan Rose
Yes, I am using the .Net library (v201708) And it appears the error
happens before the soap request is sent (I'm guessing it is in the client
libraries formation of the request). I will respond privately with the
contents of the summary log from this request.

Hi Peter,

I sent you the clientCustomerId via private message. Please let me know if
I can provide further information to help.

Thanks for looking into this. I look forward to hearing your findings.

Andy
